Well, under normal circumstances with another candidate, I would actually agree with you that the VP nom. isn't as earthshaking as this potentially could be. But it's this VP candidate and this visibly-worsening man she intends to follow if anything goes wrong. And please don't insult us by denying she intends to.

Factually, Biden's age is more of a concern as he would be the oldest President ever --- IF he completes a first term. All posturing aside here, Biden is now of an age where a whole lot of men who took equally good care of themselves are still going for dirt naps. It's not unreasonable to wonder if he WOULD finish a four-year term of guaranteed stress.

Factually, Biden has also mentioned being a one-term president only (but not getting trapped into a firm commitment to that). For a sitting President to step aside and leave it to his VP to pursue that second term for a departed administration is not farfetched. Even if Harris changes every word of Biden's policies, she will use the 25th to get that power to do it.

I did not say that but it's a fair question we can apply equally to Biden and Trump --- until Trump's reelection is confirmed and Biden goes away the happy warrior, Hubert Humphrey style, standard bearer for lost causes.

It is well documented DJT is a nonsmoker and nondrinker --- he doesn't GET drunk, he CAUSES them. It would be reasonable Trump would live just as long as Biden has already and complete a second term.

1) You think homeless people are just waiting for a job? Seriously? Meantime, agree they have addiction and other issues, and agree their families should be providing care to them. Of course those who don't accept the care (IOW homeless people who turn down places in shelters and family homes because they don't like 'rules') should lose access to it. No family should be expected to waste resources on someone who won't help themselves .. and DEFINITELY no tax payers should be expected to pay.

1) Of course they do. Have you any idea how many empty beds there are in shelters and other housing resources in which there are rules? There's some very good and safe, newly developed resources in LA which are working at only 70% capacity, while outside there are an ever increasing number of people living in squalor and complaining about their lot. And lets not forget all those families who initially try to help, but give up because the person continues to misbehave. The vast majority of homeless people are homeless because they don't want to live in any situation where they're required to behave.

2) This 'war on drugs' only applies to people who take drugs. If people don't want to end up homeless, perhaps they shouldn't do drugs, or associate with people who do drugs. Choices!

some are homeless due to the Trump economy, some have health\mental issues, ect...

 

1) Well over 90% of the homeless have addiction issues. Anyone claims to care but denies rife addiction, is plainly dishonest. And their refusal to be honest about the cause, means they're actively invested in perpetuating homelessness.

2) The significant increase in homelessness happened in the first 15 years of this century. COVID exacerbated it recently, but the biggest increase happened before. Almost all of it is a result of terrible long term local policies - and the same is happening in most "Progressive" cities, both in and outside of America. The blame is one hundred percent upon state and city leadership. Those with local policies attractive to the dissolute, the lazy, the grifter, the addict, the illegal alien, etc.

Why do I go on about what I think will happen if Biden wins? It ain't odd --- Democrats are involved. Well, let's start with a party that doesn't keep its promises to its own voters. Dems vowed for YEARS they would get student loan forgiveness into a plank of their party platform, and in 2020 again reneged on that promise. Meanwhile Biden vows he will make Roe v Wade the law of the land if it's overturned in the Supreme Court. That's a guaranteed legal feedback loop good for entertaining an entire next generation.
