But not to the Select Joint Committee on Intelligence. If they believed that Obama was in the wrong, there are ways to "leak" that information to the NYT, Washington Post, Examiner, etc where they can publicly pressure the President. So far, that has not been the case.

He wasn't captured. He was killed and the tribunal does not apply in this case.

It only happens if one is captured and presumed to be a terrorist. The Tribunal would determine if that was the case.

I would ask Alwayssa what security need there is to not disclose a target that you already killed.

American Al Qaeda Spokesman Calls on Americans to Attack at Home

Adam Yahiye Gadahn, an American Muslim convert from California who has appeared in Al Qaeda propaganda videos for nearly a decade, has called on Americans to launch attacks on U.S. soil.



Gadahn, who appears in a 100 minute video entitled, "You Are Only Responsible for Yourself," says that "Muslims in the West have to remember that they are perfectly placed to play an important and decisive part in the jihad against the Zionists and Crusaders and to do major damage to the enemies of Islam."



In the video, which was released on June 2, 2011, Gadahn notes that "America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms" and that listeners can "go down to a gun show at the local convention center and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle without a background check and most likely without having to show an identification card." He concludes with, "So what are you waiting for?"



Gadahn suggests targeting institutions and leaders. "It's important," Gadahn says, "that we weaken our cowardly enemy's will to fight by targeting influential public figures in Crusader and Zionist government, industry and media."



Gadahn's call echos those by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Al Qaeda's affiliate in Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Since July 2010, AQAP has released five issues of its online English-language magazine Inspire, which employs accessible Western references and instructs readers to "fight jihad on U.S. soil." The fifth issue of Inspire, directs a reader to "focus on planning out attacks in the West… the mujahidin leadership are today asking the brothers in the West specifically to attack Western interests in the West instead of coming here to Yemen...."

I would like to see the evidence through military tribunal which proves this assertion. Nothing less than that should be granted to American citizens if they're going to be executed without due process via drones - or any other method, for that matter.

 

If they are on foreign soil taking up arms against us then they deserve to be blown to (*)(*)(*)(*).

 

This, for example, is a good example of a hand-written death sentence. I would have no problem at all having a drone take this clown out.

I agree - if there is proof, and some protocol to document it and have it ruled upon in tribunal.

 

That was such a huge extrapolation of the word "combatant" that it meant that every single person in the world is a "combatant", and thus the word is pointless to even use in the first place.

Who are the people targeted? From the CIA reports if you are around the age of a terrorist than you are what they are labeling as other militant.

Obama's definition for someone worthy of being targeted by a drone plane is any man.. Yep, if you're a man, you fit the bill.
