Always respected Starr and how he conducted himself and his Office of Independent Prosecutor throughout the Whitewater and then Jones/Lewinsky investigations, yes they were entirely different investigations. He put up with a LOT during both. I very intelligent and scholarly man who believed in the Constitution and the rule of law.

Ken Starr, Clinton investigator, dead at 76

Ken Starr, a noted attorney who helped impeach one president and defended another from the same fate, died Tuesday at the age of 76.

Starr died in Houston of complications from surgery at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, a statement released by his family said.

"We are deeply saddened with the loss of our dear and loving Father and Grandfather, whom we admired for his prodigious work ethic, but who always put his family first," Starr's son, Randall P. Starr, said. "The love, energy, endearing sense of humor, and fun-loving interest Dad exhibited to each of us was truly special, and we cherish the many wonderful memories we were able to experience with him. He is now with his Lord and Savior."

Hell, if we were in France they would have laughed at Starr, which makes him a colossal hypocrite, given that he was canned from the presidency of Baylor University for ignoring charges of sexual misconduct by football players

 

FWIW, Starr did not start the Whitewater investigation and the issue with Clinton and Lewinski WAS NOT the sexual act but, rather, WJC's attempts to obstruct the investigation and influence witnesses.

No probe was extended, Whitewater and Jones/Lewinsky were two entirely different matters. Attorney General Reno assigned the Jones/Lewinsky investigation to his office.

 

The Whitewater investigation was started by the RTC, Resolution Trust Company, which was in charge of cleaning up the Savings and Loan collapse. 20 Clinton associates went to prison including his hand picked sitting governor, his hand picked Deputy Attorney General and his hand picked Legal Advisor to the President was on his way to one but instead took his own life. You are correct Starr could not present the case against the Clinton's but then when of the 4 key witnesses one died from suicide, on died under mysterious circumstances in jail while waiting to testify and two went to prison refusing to testify.

Paula Jones was NOT consensual. He sexually assaulted her let alone the sexual harassment. Don't women who suffer such treatment by their bosses deserve their day in court? She had a right to evidence about any sexual relations he had with subordinate employees and any rewards or gifts or special favors he gave to them. It's called the Molinari Amendment and Bill Clinton signed it into law with much fanfare by women's groups for the protection it gave to women. He committed perjury, subornation of perjury, obstruction of justice and witness tampering in that federal civil rights lawsuit. And then he lied before the grand jury investigating that.

And I think most people in France would take offense to you saying that about their leaders and their citizens. I personally don't believe people in France support sexual harassment and sexual assault and men who do so lying in court when they are being held accountable.

The charges for which Clinton was impeached stemmed from a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Clinton by Paula Jones.

What did that have to do with matters of national security? Violation of oath of office, which, if it did occur, wouldn't have occurred if an impeachment process for personal sexual matter shouldn't have started in the first place, where Trump, who had 25 women accuse him of sexual misconduct, and not one of them led to his impeachment. His impeachment was for bribing a foreign leader for private gain, real reasons and on the second impeachment, inciting the attack on the capitol, real reasons.

 

Except bribery of a foreign gov't, of course.
