Slavery began 3500 years BC in the middle east. The number of African slaves shipped to the United States was about 400,000. Far more went to other African nations, South America, and Caribbean Islands. And it was only practiced in the US for about two hundred years before it was ended. White nations were the last to employ it, and first to end the practice. The middle east and Africa of course were the first to employ it and still practice it to some degree.
