Reality: What we "conquered" in this country was SEGREGATION, way back in the 1950's and 1960's. And it was White Americans more than anyone else who brought full equality between the races in the United States into reality!

 

I am assuming that public schoolboy in the USA take their populations from defined catchment areas.
This mean that any schoolboy that site in the middle of à Black neighbourhood is going to have a majority Black population.that doesnt mean it is segregated. Unfotrunately it also mean the qualité of éducation is Nevers going to match the schools in the leafy suburbs.
This just reminded me of that Sidney Poitier film To Sir With Love. In it, it is the Black teacher who "educates" the white kids. When I first saw it, I never noticed the ironic stereotype rôle reversal.
One of my last teaching jobs included à nearly all white population from à rundown old mining village and à nearly all Muslim population from inner city Leicester. There was no ségrégation, just post codes. But the result was the same. The white school was one of the worst I have worked in. The muslim school was a delight.

 

But not without à huge fight, both in the court , in school boards and in the streets.
And it resulted in that ridiculous system of bussing to mix the natural populations. The success is still debateable both socially and academically.

 

Spare the FAUX outrage, the far RW, are total inverted in the dive off the cliff to fascism.

2024 is two years away—we'll see what happens if (when?) Republicans get control of Congress. There are a lot of things that can go wrong. Example: GOP Senate and GOP House pass national abortion legislation and Biden vetoes it.
