I don't think his objection is sound, as he made a claim that SCOTUS did something, that they did not do.

 

Yes. As a seller, you CAN ship a firearm directly to a FFL in any state to facilitate the transfer to an out-of-state buyer. The post I originally responded to suggested that people from Chicago could drive to Indiana to purchase firearms in person, and then transport them back to Illinois themselves.

No court has ruled it to be unconstitutional to have to have a purchase permit, prior to purchasing a firearm. Which is why several states, including the conservative republican led state of NC where I reside, require purchase permits in order to purchase them.

Try taking in what are obviously gun cases next time and see what happens. Rifles are a specific profile, and super heavy. It's not likely that they would fit, in say, your purse, or rollo bag. Nor, likely would most folks be able to bear the weight plus that of the ammunition. Thinking that just "regular" luggage is the same is, well, superficial.

I just have to ask, is there a reason that this tragedy has to fit inside of this narrative you're pushing today?

It is not possible to fire a semi auto weapon as fast as a full auto weapon. The mechanics of the firearms are very different.
