Been saying this all along. it's not so much who is spending it...but the time in which it is being spent. All the other first ladies, that people want to deflect to...were not in this economy. You simply cannot spend like this when your nation is 14Trillion in debt....because other first ladies did, when they werent 14 Trillion in debt.

In a poor economic climate..Spending absolutely has to change to reflect the times.
Michelle should spend more time in the WH mansion, it's not like it's a shack or anything. At least pretend to be on the same page with the majority of America.

Bush tax cuts, amounted to $370 billion per year. Of that the rich got $70 billion and the middle class and below got $300 billion per year in tax savings. It depends on your opinion, who can more wisely spend their own money, the people themselves, or the government? In all of Bush's time, the tax cuts totaled $2.5 trillion [against deficits of $1.6 trillion] of the total the middle class and below SAVED $2.1 trillion in taxes. This means the people had $2,5 trillion MORE and the government had $2.5 TRILLION less.

Medicare Part D Rx drug coverage--Since Medicare cost less than half a trillion last year and the Part D coverage is a part of Medicare and not a major part, it is impossible to say that Medicare Part D was a "Trillion dollar prescription entitlement" You also must subtract from the government cost, THE SAVINGS that poor seniors realized from Part D. Aren't you liberals supposed to be all about the welfare of your fellow man?




And 2 unfunded wars. One of the most often told lies by the left. The cost of Bush's 2 wars from the beginning until odrama took power was $1 trillion. Not trillions, one trillion. how much of that one trillion did odrama have to pay? Not a penny. Every cent of the cost of those wars was paid each and every year. Not included in the budget in the beginning is not "unfunded." Use your head. A budget deficit means more was spent than was budgeted. The annual deficit means more was spent than was taken in.
The cost of the wars was included in the annual deficit each year.
Using your head again, would it make ANY sense if one president could rack up debt for 8 years without paying a cent for it and then just dump it on the incoming president? No, at least I hope you realize that is a nonsense idea.

And speaking of fiscal responsibility, explain please how the Democrats fiscal actions are in ANY way responsible acts. The Democrats took control of both houses of Congress in Jan 2007. They held that control for FY 2008, FY 2009, FY 2010, and FY 2011. In that time they have amassed deficits of over $4.5 TRILLION. In addition to record high deficits, with total control of both Houses of Congress and "the worst recession since the Depression" The Democrats DID NOT pass a budget for FY 2010 or FY 2011. We have been operating on 'continuing resolutions of FY 2009's budget ever since. WE STILL ARE, as the Democratic controlled Senate STILL has not passed a budget for FY 2012 which started the first of this month. How can that be considered fiscally responsible? IT CANNOT. By the way, the dreaded Republicans that took control of only the House of Representatives last Jan, DID pass a budget and send it to the Senate last March. The Senate has not acted on the House budget nor passed one of their own.

Deficit for FY 2007 [Republicans] Tax cuts in place, Medicare Part D in place, 2 wars being paid in full. $161 billion against revenue of $2,568 trillion.

Deficit for FY 2011 [Democrats] ALL the same factors in place. $1,301 TRILLION against revenue of $2, 281 TRILLION. Revenue down $287 billion, deficit UP $1,140 TRILLION!

MO just fits right in with this irresponsible bunch!
