If you're going to tell someone that they have trouble reading you should at least make sure yours is on par.

    Got it.

So Reagan was blameless because it was all Carter's fault. Obama, however, deserves ALL the blame including the blame for a recession that started 2 years before he was in office. That pretty much sums up the right-wing's blame game. Just forget that 2001-2008 ever happened...

We just showed you that unemployment during Reagan's first term was much worse than it is today. Yet Nancy Reagan was jet-setting round the world. But it's ok because she's a Republican. Republicans are supposed to spend money and ruin the economy while Democrats are left with the task to clean up the mess. Does that about sum it up?

Reagan raised taxes 11 times and we had a massive deficit because of him.

Carter was imo, the last "common sense" president. Of course people made fun of him for it though....

Unlike most on this forum, I was an adult running a business when Reagan was president. I did not much care for some Hollywood actor becoming President. However I do not remember Reagan spending any time blaming Carter. If he did any of that, he did not waste 2 full years of his Presidency blaming his predecessor. Reagan set about FIXING the problem and by this time in his Presidency, it was fixed. odrama on the other hand wasted 2 full years getting his pet legislation passed by every underhanded trick needed to get it passed. And wasted even more time making sure that he could not possibly be blamed for anything. Either Bush did it or some odrama underling did it. Note the steady stream of WH economic advisers resigning with regularity. None resigned, they were fired to deflect blame away from the obamalama. And then he'd hire a clone of the person sent away.

Reagan was fully competent and got the job done. Odrama is completely incompetent and has failed miserably.

I was a Democrat when Reagan was elected.

If you knew your history (which you don't) you would know that Reagan came in under 2 Recessions (one in 1980 and the other in 1981) with double digit inflation and massive stagflation, an oil crisis, and a cold war. Things were bad when he got in but Reagan actually worked to make things better. Finally the recession stopped and unemployment shank year after year. Reagan never blamed his predecessor for all his troubles. He never went on all those extravagant vacations. He worked to correct the mistakes of the Carter Administration and he did.

Yep. Unemployment was higher than it was today. However you seem to ignore the fact that we have people in the White House who are not very committed to fixing the problem. We also have a debt problem and we seem to not have a president who is committed to fixing that as well.

Also, I don't know how many times I have to say it. I really do not care what the First Lady does. Let's just not pretend like she is actually doing anything worth while. She is not working. She does not have a job. She has no obligations. She has no duties of any kind. For 4 - 8 years, she is simply living the life on the vacation of her dreams. Lets not pretend she is actually an ambassador. She is merely a political celebrity.

    Lol...

Yes, I'll grant you that the defense budget did increase dramatically while he was President but if you think that was the only part of his budget that increased, you need to go back and do a bit more research.

For instance, did you know that Reagan signed the largest tax increase in US history not long after signing the tax cuts that the right wants us to think bear the sole responsibility for pulling the US out of recession...

I see a long list of official Presidential State visits.. Meeting with various dignitaries and heads of State.

No where do I see, "Nancy Reagan, WITHOUT THE PRESIDENT, takes her whole family and all of her friends on an expensive junket, VACATION, courtesy of the American Taxpayer.

But 'Mickie the moocher' did that.

I also don't see where the President has official business in England, but Nancy Reagan insists that 2 EXTRA AIRCRAFT be brought along so she and her whole family can fly to France to shop while the president works.

But 'Mickie the moocher' did that too.

I also don't see where Nancy Reagan insisted another aircraft fly her and her family to Martha's Vineyard before the president, so as to not lose FOUR HOURS OF HER VACATION.

But 'Mickie the moocher" did that too.

Anybody else heard she listed her two daughters as 'senior staff members' so their expenses would be paid?

Read it and weep, libs. Your FLOTUS ain't no prize.

True. It is hard to justify Michelle flying over 250,000 miles total to various states around the country and various countries around the world.

Michelle Obama has traveled over 250,000 miles

He reformed the tax code in 1986. When the tax code was reformed that made taxes increase for those who were making between the previous marginal rate of 15 percent and 28 while at the same time lowering the top marginal rate from 50 percent to 35 percent.
