In terms of the video, yes because as I said, it's not just white guys doing things.

All of that is irrelevant. My point is that if this commercial was addressing "black guys" and then went on to list stereotypes about black men, you'd have a different opinion. Whether or not the hypothetical was an original piece or a response to this one makes no difference.

The commercial is structured in a way that implies most white males are guilty of the things they talked about. Otherwise it wouldn't have been addressed to "white guys." Are you starting to get it now?

Back when the MUSIC on MTV was good, and the politics were small :

    It had an audience!

They didn't feel a need to put Race into every damn video!

    Then the Rap Change happened:

And its all been downhill since!

I, and I think most other Americans do NOT tune in to a cable TV music channel to be politically Preached at and propagandized!

I tune in to be mildly entertained and to ESCAPE!

It's both amusing and depressing how often black Americans complain about racist white Americans and white Americans complain about racist black Americans without any of them realising where the issue actually lies.

When I grew up I thought reverse racism was kind of a joke (pretty much all racism, actually). After 8 years of Obama and watching the media and society going insane... It is becoming a real problem folks.

If the YouTube likes counter and response videos in the "Videos You Might Like" section are an indicator, it probably didn't.

When MTV was actually majority music... Lol.

ESPN is becoming a liberal speakerphone as well. I'm curious to see where it is in a decade. Probably unwatchable.

Ignorance and self pity both are annoying.

"Blue live" refers to police and anyone with an IQ over 50 knows this. Not one is actually "black" either.

The claim that no one in the USA ever had a good life but white men is just pity-party seeking special treatment crap.

Indeed I would, I'd probably break it down in many posts.

I really don't know why just "white guys" were addressed to because white guys are not the only ones who do that. Then they added what basically is summed up as a "nobody's perfect but let's try to do better" statement at the end.

Do YOU think that any minority in this country's history was treated equally and respectfully as everyone else from the start?

So then you agree with me about how this video is ineffective and actually counterproductive to attaining social equality by ostracizing and stereotyping an entire group based on sex and skin color?

The video didn't tell people in general, it told white guys, specifically white guys, not to do any of that. And even then the assumption is made that all white guys do it. Does this ring a bell regarding what liberals frequently complain about?

Yes and no. I say it like that because I definitely get the complaints about this being stereotyping an entire group and it's not fun to watch and were it my race, I'd be unhappy. At the same time, I can only hope this puts things into perspective of what black people have had to deal with for a long time, as well as other groups, no matter what the background or circumstance is.

Blue lives matter is only a thing because BLM existed and someone just wanted to copy that and run with it. It didn't exist until well after BLM was started and apparently isn't provocative or offensive or "racist" as the black one is, meaning "black" is apparently the word that upsets folks.

    Plus, blue isn't a race of people, unless you're a Smurf or a Na'Vi.

As a white guy who needed to take care of being out in the Florida sun I do not see anything wrong with that video but then as white as I am I not a white racist so that is likely why I do not see a problem some of the posters here see.

By the way before Trump came along where was you guys hiding out?

You left out Italians and Irishmen, they had a rough go of it at first.

You might not consider yourself a racist but the people in that video do.

That's the thing, it doesn't do that. What it does do is take people who are already sympathetic to the bigotry faced by black people and groups them with people who do the things they complained about simply because they share the same skin tone. So now some of those people are going to throw their hands up and stop caring because it's hard being allies with people to fight stereotypes when those same people are stereotyping YOU.

On the other side, the people who from the start don't give a damn about black people or their problems (like most of the people in this thread) aren't going to change their mind because of this video. It probably just reinforces their bigoted views.

The only thing that the video does accomplish is that it gives a subset of like-minded people the opportunity to say, "Yeah, eff those guys!" while they feel morally superior. Like I said before, it's just another echo in the chamber, meant for the consumption of the faithful.

Is "black" a race? What race is "white"? People who make issues over skin pigmentation are lame. But a movement that encourages people to kill cops, naturally created a back lash in a nation that values law and order.

Really? If you HAD watched it, I'd think you would be appalled.

I can't imagine any corporate entity having the nerve to air such a thing regarding ANY demographic.

And good God, how on earth are all these people swallowing corporate propaganda while constantly talking about how they hate the top? It has got to be the weirdest thing I've ever seen.

Well that is confusing. I thought the extremist Gazis (aka, latte Gazis, aka celebrities) were all moving to that country full of white males - just to the north of America - if the white male was elected Prez.

There is social equality NOW. It's not our fault if you're too lazy (or your POC friends [see what I did there?] are too lazy) to get ahead. I'm surrounded by PsOC who are substantially more 'equal' than the white majority in which we live. You talk bull, the sort of bull that only a person who really really wants to see racism (because it provides him or her with a hobby), or who is too lazy to succeed is likely to talk.

In the meantime, the most virulently sexist and racist people alive are one of your preferred minority groups. They make even genuinely bigoted whitey look like raving Progressives. THAT'S how credible the opinions of Progressives are when it comes to racism etc.

Damn nonsense. POC have exactly the same opportunities as everyone else. The individual decides if they have the brass to be successful, not a society which no longer cares what colour your skin is.

I don't think it is a question of safe space. It is a question of progressive hypocrisy.

And are you really suggesting that white people join the KKK. It may very well happen if you keep bashing white people.

Is that what you want, to polarize the nation on racial grounds? If so, keep on keeping on. The KKK will thank you.
