I love how the cultists say things like New York isn't the world. LMAO! Don't they know how stupid and idiotic they sound? It is part of the world and if it isn't hotter here then it can't be considered global! It is regional where it is hot. They point to a hot region and say see! GLOBAL warming, then when you point out it is the coldest August here, they say, that's not the world, don't you understand what GLOBAL IS? It's downright hysterical.

 

If you live in America you were in a cold spot. You can't judge the world's temperature by sticking your head out the window.

It hasn't gone up in decades. Nice try at your GLOBAL uselessness. If it hasn't risen across the ENTIRE globe it isn't GLOBAL, it's regional. Understand that?

 

Check the map. Does it look like I only picked one hot spot? Or does it look like the entire world is mostly a hot spot?

Connolley took control of all things climate in the most used information source the world has ever known – Wikipedia. Starting in February 2003, just when opposition to the claims of the band members were beginning to gel, Connolley set to work on the Wikipedia site. He rewrote Wikipedia’s articles on global warming, on the greenhouse effect, on the instrumental temperature record, on the urban heat island, on climate models, on global cooling. On Feb. 14, he began to erase the Little Ice Age; on Aug.11, the Medieval Warm Period. In October, he turned his attention to the hockey stick graph. He rewrote articles on the politics of global warming and on the scientists who were skeptical of the band. Richard Lindzen and Fred Singer, two of the world’s most distinguished climate scientists, were among his early targets, followed by others that the band especially hated, such as Willie Soon and Sallie Baliunas of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, authorities on the Medieval Warm Period.

All told, Connolley created or rewrote 5,428 unique Wikipedia articles. His control over Wikipedia was greater still, however, through the role he obtained at Wikipedia as a website administrator, which allowed him to act with virtual impunity. When Connolley didn’t like the subject of a certain article, he removed it — more than 500 articles of various descriptions disappeared at his hand. When he disapproved of the arguments that others were making, he often had them barred — over 2,000 Wikipedia contributors who ran afoul of him found themselves blocked from making further contributions. Acolytes whose writing conformed to Connolley’s global warming views, in contrast, were rewarded with Wikipedia’s blessings. In these ways, Connolley turned Wikipedia into the missionary wing of the global warming movement.

Not at all. Climate variability happens all over the globe. Warming up one area may cause another area to lose heat.

For example the polar vortex of last winter may have been caused by a warmer than usual North Pole. This caused the Jet Stream to push further south which pushed the polar vortex into America. Giving us a very chilly winter.

 

Of course there is an upward trend. The world will have upward trends and downward trends over long periods of time and it always has had such.

Do you have evidence that this upward trend is caused primarily by man? If so can you find information that clarifies how much of the warming is estimated to be caused by man? I have had a very good dig over the last few years and have come up with scientists offering many different theories but none with a confident handle on it.

Until that is understood (and it is not) how does anyone expect man's efforts to change the upward or downward trends that are driven a good amount by nature?

That didn't debunk it. Debunking it would be providing conflicting data. We have hundreds of institutions across the globe measuring global temperatures. If you believe Nasa's data is incorrect surely one of the other institutions spotted it.

I would think that these places are indications of temperatures across the world. Just keep worrying about global warming. Someone has to, but it won't be me. A waste of my time. We have more pressing matters like terrorism. That will do us in before global warming if we don't take care of business.

Actually no. Climate variability causes jumps back and forth year to year but trends one way or the other are rare naturally. They only happen if there is a reason for it to happen. And if we eliminate all artificial reasons like the very clear increase in green house gases caused by man there is no reason for this trend.

It amazes me how people who clearly don't understand the difference between weather and climate portend to be more knowledgeable than scientists.

 

Don't know what NASA is smoking but there was only 1 or 2 90 degree days out here compared to the heat wave last year.
