NFL to play black national anthem at every game in upcoming season

    That’s the best way to get things back to normal. Play a song only meant for one group. Perfect way to bring people together, by separating them.

    Since when was the national anthem only meant for white people? /boggle

    What politics has MLB added into their games?

    Or could it just be part of the trend that literally started in the early 90s as ratings have consistently decreased since then.

    Why play any anthems in the first place? That way no one can claim that politics are being injected into sports at all.

    That's not the point at all.

    This is about a segment of America that demands separation from the rest of us. A segment that does not recognize the nation's anthem, and demands their own.
    This is a declaration of division, and separation.

    I thought we were supposed to be one nation, one people, one flag, one anthem?

    Interesting, they did this last year before all the week 1 games and at the Super Bowl and it is like nobody even noticed and the world as we know it did not end.

    Or, you could look at it as one segment is being acknowledged. Not to the detriment of any other group. As for the 'demands their own' issue, did you even know that Lift Every Voice and Sing was considered by some to be the Black anthem?

    They have been playing the black anthem in sports for a while now. Trumpists didn't know about it because their messiah has been banned from Twitter where he would have told them how they should feel. LOL

    I did not even know there is a "black" national anthem but my personal opinion, the country has an official national anthem and that's the one that should be played.

    I did not know there was a black national anthem either, but they are still playing the official national anthem as well.

    It really just does not seem like the end of the world

    It is not a 'national anthem' - it is a poem that was set to music. It has been adopted by the Black community as their 'anthem', but nationally, it is not considered such. It's a SONG! The fact that so many here are getting so upset about it speaks volumes.

    That be just a little reparations, so it must be expected.

    At some point soon, I expect an affirmative action be used to draft black players ahead of white ones. If it does not happen already.
