Influenza is not very infectious. It's RO is 1.2. The RO of this one is around 4-6.7 which is why the Government believes it could hit 80% of us. In reality its infections rate is so strong it could easily get us all. Now as far as deaths are concerned. Have just been listening to today's Democracy Now. They say the WHO have recalculated the death rate to 3.4% far deadlier than the seasonal flue.

I will have a link for that bit of information please. Very near the beginning I was following someone, still am but this was near the beginning, who had got information that this one could have an RO of 4. He did all the drawing and things and said that basically at that pace literally everyone in the world could get it. In addition this one can be handed on before you even have any symptoms. They reckon possibly as early as 12 hours after you are infected you can infect others. I know Sars could not do that. Now show me the link that Sars RO was 4 because it does not seem likely.

I am afraid there is some potentially concerning news which may explain the higher death toll in Italy. It is believed that there may be two strains of Coronavirus one of them more aggressive. This is also reported in the Sun and the Telegraph. I first heard about it in the daily video from the guy I have been following but it is easiest at the moment for me to give the Sun's version. What I am saying here is that even though this is from the Sun it would appear to be true. That is a true report. They do also make clear that this is unfinished research and may not be completely accurate.

MUTATION

KILLER coronavirus has "mutated" into two strains - with the most aggressive infecting 70 per cent of patients, scientists have claimed.

Researchers in China said they had found two main types of the deadly disease could be causing infections.
A team from Peking University's School of Life Sciences and the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai under the Chinese Academy of Sciences have been analysing the outbreak since it first emerged in December.

They say that early findings suggest there are two strains of the infection - one of them is more aggressive than the other and has infected more people.

But the scientists warned that their analysis examined a limited range of data - 103 samples - and said more research was needed.

Aggressive strain
The preliminary study found that when the virus first crossed into humans, the "ancestral" strain - which they named 'S' - subsequently evolved into another version, called 'L'.

In their study, they found that the older strain is the more aggressive and faster-spreading of the two.

Initially the newer strain, L, was more prevalent - but is now reducing and S has gone onto become more common.

The authors suggest that this could be because the disease it causes is less severe, meaning people can carry it for longer before they are hospitalised - making it the risk of passing it on greater.

They also claim that the more aggressive version associated with the disease outbreak in Wuhan accounted for about 70 per cent of analysed strains.

Meanwhile 30 per cent was linked to the less aggressive type, according to the findings, published on Tuesday in the National Science Review, the journal of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

"These findings strongly support an urgent need for further immediate, comprehensive studies that combine genomic data, epidemiological data, and chart records of the clinical symptoms of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)," they wrote.

But experts warn that the study is very early data and more research is needed.

A new study from Nankai University alleged that Covid-19’s ability to infect cells is up to 1,000 times more powerful than SARS, a coronavirus which caused 774 deaths in 17 countries between November 2002 and July 2003. The new coronavirus emerged in Wuhan, China, and has now killed 2,800 victims and infected more than 80,000. In a new piece of research, scientists said SARS enters the human body by binding with a protein called ACE2 that exists in human cell membranes. But the new coronavirus aims for an enzyme called furin – the same enzyme attacked by HIV and ebola. Professor Ruan Jishou and his team at Nankai University found genes in Covid-19 which did not exist in SARS but can be found in both of the viruses responsible for spreading HIV and ebola, according to the South China Morning Post.
