    All of this involves what?

    MONEY!!!!

    NIce try though.

All these issues you brought up, are not unique to black people. Whites people have these issues as well. Propose something that helps everyone in need, everyone regardless of color who are under privileged.

    Otherwise, its just being racist.

Absolutely not! The history of Asians in this country is completely different from that of black people. They were not enslaved, they were not targeted by Jim Crowe laws.

Why are Chinese-American descendants not "bitching" about how somebody should give any of them reparations but black people are?

That question can go under the same category as the "imprisoned" and "crimes" questions. Your answer to ANY of them would enlighten you in respect as to why reparations for black people are necessary.

Well, so, then it is MONEY that the "reparations" people are pushing for after all.

You can put as much 'lipstick' on that 'pig' as you wish, it's still all about the money.

And, yes, I thought you were connecting the 'Blacks-disproportionately-in-prison' thing with 'reparations' if only because you kept referencing back to it over and over!

I'll still tell you with a straight face that I cannot think of a rational reason WHY Blacks (or anyone else) commits crimes except that they think they'll get away with it. Why does anyone commit a crime and hope for less...?!

Lastly, has it occurred to you that very poor Whites (I was one), very poor Latinos, and very poor East-Asians might also have had a great deal of difficulty earning college degrees, working in rewarding jobs, and 'breaking the poverty cycle'...?

In all honesty, I truly do believe that the question you may need to be asking yourself is, "Why, after government(s), corporations, and institutions in the United States have created opportunities for DECADES, through Affirmative Action, hiring preferences, and fat government contracts set-aside for minorities ONLY, can't the majority of American Blacks achieve higher degrees of achievement and prosperity?"

Think about it objectively, Golem -- all American citizens have been fully and entirely EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW since 1965, and our society is one that is built on the primary foundation of the rule of LAW. Logically, and ethically, what else is our nation supposed to do for a segment of our people who just somehow continually can't do it for themselves...?

Pretty much. The particulars have not been worked out yet. But any monetary compensation would probably be of the type I mentioned.

Anybody who believes that they're going to receive a check will be very disappointed. But the only ones who have equivocated reparations with "cash pay-offs" has been the right wingnut media.

They are completely related to slavery. Slavery created conditions that continued with the Jim Crowe laws which continue today with systemic racism. Of course systemic racism is not the same as slavery. But it has pretty much the same effect for many black people in that they are unable to break the poverty cycle in which they have been for many generations.

That is factually incorrect. As a member of the black community your description of reparations earlier was literally the first time I've ever heard it described that way. If the right wing media are who perpetuated that falsehood then they got it from black people because every black person I know thinks "paycheck" when discussing reparations and I know quite a lot of them...

As I said, if Congress is even thinking about this then they might want to actually talk TO the black community and not talk FOR the black community because if monetary compensation will be of the type you mentioned then there will be A LOT of "very disappointed" black people as you said.

It would probably not be the best outcome for Congress to try to "help" black folks by giving reparations and then it turning out not to be the type of reparations black folks actually wanted. They may want to run this one by the black community to make sure it would be "acceptable".

I realize that - did not say was "Unrelated" - but quantifying the financial reward of systemic racism over 300 years is not easy.

What we can do .. is attack the root cause of the imprisonment issue - as a first step - as outlined. There was systemic racism for 300 years .. the prison problem was not near as bad .. not even close .. that happened with the Drug war ..

Oh, no! I thought that at the very least we had been able to make progress beyond the memes and unsupportable idiocy of "systemic racism", and JIM CROW laws. You still cling to that?!

JIM CROW laws died a well-deserved death in 1965 -- 56 years ago! What is wrong with you?! And for heaven's sake, Golem, at least write the name of the damn thing correctly -- it's "Jim Crow" Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Crow_laws

Systemic racism doesn’t exist and hasn’t existed since 1965. Thats nearly 3 generations of kids growing from 0 into their 20’s being treated equal under the law, and even getting the privilege of getting extra credit getting into colleges already, getting into jobs vs equally qualified white people, etc.

Offering reparations for one group of people over another, when other groups suffer from the same thing is inherently racist and discriminatory.

Historic racism does not justify racism today.

That doesn’t exist. However, atleast your argument is no longer on nonsensical ineffective and discriminatory reparations.

So we should add not knowing what the term "racism" means to your long list of misconceptions.

Only in a very very narrow minded short sighted kind of disingenuousness. Of course ANY federal program costs money. You could then just use that as an excuse to say about any bill you disagreed with that "it's all about money".

Only by researching and finding honest answers to the questions I asked you would get you out of that argumentative hole you are digging yourself into.

    You are projecting.

From an objective standpoint, its about money. You attempted to pretend it wasn’t. The only disingenuous perspective so far has been your own. It is in fact about money.

Because black boys generally don’t have fathers or any responsible male role models and don’t grow up into black men. They just grow up into angry, larger, violent black males. NOT MEN. That’s why they commit more crime. They weren’t disciplined or taught properly due to rampant single motherhood. Very simple actually.

And a simple solution. Black leaders need to get their **** together and start demanding black fathers stop hitting it and quitting it and demand black females keep their ****ing legs closed until they’re married or at least use ****ing birth control. Stop convincing the black community that the state will be daddy. But then that will really screw up that voting block once they no longer are getting all the freebies or being told they’re just poor victims of systemic racism. The biggest crime was Democrats convincing their pet voting block that they can SAVE THEM as long as they keep voting for them. How has THAT worked out for them since the 60s? Not good. The black family unit is non existent. And nearly every problem stems from that simple fact. No fathers means less stability and poverty. More poverty means dumber kids because the parents are too stressed or not “parents” at all. Dumb kids with no role models make MORE dumb kids and commit lots of crime and go to jail, repeating the cycle over and over and OVER again!!!

The ONLY thing that can fix things is truth. And truth is the LAST thing Democrats will ever tell black people. They would be Republicans then:)

It won't matter anyway but these are my thoughts on your version of reparations:
    already exists
Everyone has that opportunity. Banks don't care where their money comes from. You will have to explain better if you want special treatment on home loans due to the color of your skin. Paying rent sucks for everyone, not just black people but let me tell you, being a landlord sucks too when people have no regard for your property. I really just have no clue where you are going with this.
Why in black neighborhoods? I would prefer to see better schools in all neighborhoods. A school in a poor white neighborhood sucks too.
This is generally called a grant or scholarship and they already exist. As a white man, I found many, many more scholarships for minorities or women than I did for "everyone else". And when you are "everyone else" you are also competing with minorities and women for the few crumbs that do exist.
I would love to do this and I agree with you, handing out money is not going to solve anything. We saw proof of that in hurricane Katrina.
I firmly believe that if you want to break the cycle, you have to change the culture. That is not something that can be bought nor is it something that the black population is interested in doing. I'm sorry, but you can't expect to be treated with dignity and be seen as the people who riot over a junky that gets in trouble with the cops. You have to ask yourselves how did the Asians break the cycle?
Stereotypes exist for a reason. Quit feeding the stereotype and it will die. Fix your problem with blacks killing blacks. That's horrible and no one wants to deal with it. More money to police forces in low income/high crime areas would be a great way to start working on some problems. But now the black population wants less police. Do you think that will help the crime problems? Don't tolerate people trashing their neighborhoods simply because someone else owns it. I've left every place I've rented in better shape than how I found it. Show respect and you will gain respect.

You want reparations? So do I. I want reparations for the cities that have been trashed due to decades of abuse and neglect.

In demanding "reparations" for neither logical nor ethical reasons, it is the manipulative, hyperliberal, America-hating Left that is 'digging a hole', Golem.

Most of us aren't falling for the argument that anybody, of any color, any ethnicity, or any creed is owed a big, fat government handout based on slavery which ended in every civilized, major Western nation, including the U. S., during the early and mid-1800's. The only real hope that the radical Left has for pushing this wholly-unfair, fanciful idiocy into being today is that the non-White population is by now so hopelessly dumbed-down and inculcated with enough "White Guilt" propaganda that it could actually be done! Good luck with that... but all the 'lib-media saturation' notwithstanding, it appears that you and your faction have a l-o-n-g way to go....

You said "Less that 50%" Its about 48% and I haven't added the long list of additional taxes that easily put me well over the mark.

So again, you have yet to support your claim of paying over 50% of your income in taxes. That is what I keep pointing out.

You have yet to acknowledge facts I posted. Once you do, the rest is easy. I hope you continue to run up your thread count avoiding this fact. This is just one of many topics where people are calling for more taxation while ignoring current levels, that are already excessive.

why are you making things up? you are fully aware I've acknowledged the fact that you have posted tax rates which do not equal greater than 50% of your income.
directly addressing what you've posted, numerous times, is not the definition of avoidance.
    .
I have not called for more taxation. I pointed out your claim of paying more than 50% of your income in taxes is nonsense, which you continue to confirm by being unable to support it.

I would tell you that it's endearing how you try to participate in a debate without even understanding what it's about but... nah!... it's just plain pathetic...
