Because in actuality he has done a very decent job, if not a good one. Many independents recognize this.

 

Great President huh? I guss he is the greatest with the worst economy since the great depression, more people on food stamps then ever before, Almost 16trillon in debt. He sure is the greatest.

 

A decent job of what? He hasn't done crap. Everything that he did, turned to crap and caused more problems. Like Obamacare, that is one of the top 3 reasons why companys are not hireing.

 

Proof of any of this? Employment and the economy have steadily improved under his stead. After inheriting the most rapidly deteriorating economy since the Great Depression, he has essentially turned it around. His debt plan would have put it under control, but Republicans rejected it and offered a plan that was roughly half as successful. Pathetic.

Obamacare isn't stopping anyone from hiring, and if it was, why are jobs being created every month?

Maybe because independents are tired of the massive negative campaign the GOP has been giving this nation for the past few years. Sick of wars and the best they got to throw at Obama is a loser to mccain and a bigget liar than obama in mitt? The only thing mitt will bring to the white house different than obama is wbite skin.

The unemployment rate SPIKED under Obama, and the only reason it has "gone down" in recent months is because they're no longer counting the millions of Americans who aren't even bothering to look for jobs anymore.

Democrats and their accounting methods are amazing!

 

No, look at jobs created. 2.3 million private sector jobs have been created during his time as president. You can't blame him for job losses in the first few months of his administration before any of his policies had even kicked in, which is what put us in such a deep hole.

Instead of a shrinking economy, we have one growing modestly. Given the lack of cooperation from Congress, what he has accomplished is fairly impressive.

Ah, yes. Our affinity for accounting methods that are used by every economist is silly. We should resort to the more scientific method of screaming about socialism no matter what the opposite party is saying, in the style of Republicans these days.

 

Look at job creation versus JOB LOSSES.

Also, Obama had a DEMOCRAT Congress up until recently. What was his excuse then?


Obama got elected on the platform of BLAME BUSH FOR EVERYTHING. A lot of people were dumb enough to buy it then, but I have a feeling that a lot of them won't be buying the same BS the second time around.

The Democratic party has conservative elements within it that required appeasement. As a result, much of what has been passed has been filled with conservative policy and, as a result, has not been as effective. For instance, the stimulus was much smaller than most economists desired.

 

The stimulus was the most horrible evil thing I have seen our government do in recent years.

Yeah, strategic economy-boosting grants are terrible. We should give all of our money to the wealthy instead, that'd be great.

 

I don't think "independents" are paying attention to the election just yet. So any thoughts about why they aren't switching parties is premature. If they're still pro-Obama in 6 months, we'll have something to talk about.

Obama's bail outs favored large corporations that were about to fail... and of course the local senate barber shop. Is this economically good or bad?

I would say bad, number one it doesn't follow Obama's mantra of "holding them accountable" it also discourages competition against established corporations.

He has done nothing to help entrepreneurs or any other type of business that offers innovation.

He hasn't unleashed any real massive building projects that would successfully employ a significant amount of people.

Maintaining the image of a mildly improving economy( which is just an image) has enlarged our debt... more so than Bush i believe.

He maintains a horrible, overpriced and self destructive foreign policy.

The money he gave to the poor through the stimulus package primarily was borrowed from China, then spent on Chinese products, and he has the nerve to blame and put sanctions on China for the failures of both his own and the Bush administration.

He supports a one size fits all public education system. (this also stunts innovative thinking)

When China stops loaning and our resources become depleted we will see both Obama's and Bushes real contributions to our economy.

Iran. well we had previously installed a murderous dictator their they now have a republic and also a peaceful relationship between it jewish and islamic citizens. They probably are not developing nuclear weapons but if they are... its not really a threat to the US or Israel because of stalk piled nukes as well as defense systems.

Invading Iran is a threat however because most of our troops remain over seas and not protecting us at home, Iran's major allies are China and Russia. China who also owns most of our debt has a military that is comparable to our own, their missile defense is better and they have more man power. We have superior weaponry, air craft and offensive war strategy.

However Obama continues to put sanctions and make hostile gestures to both China and Iran with no real justification.

Obama is a horrible president, that being said so would most of the competition because they all promote social corporatist policy, which is really harmful as we all are going to learn the hard way.

 

It's possible that "Independant" women don't like being called Sluts.

I disagree with a couple of his points and I don't like how he's attempting to speak for all independents, but overall a good article.

 

LMAO you are naive. Who exactly do you think the bailouts went to... the poor? Why do we have a legal bankruptcy policy if Obama is just going to sidestep it so he can give a ton of money to all of his friends?

 

I am sooooo tired of this GOP lie. The dems only had a filibuster proof majority for a few months at the start of Obama's presidency. Ever since then the Republicans have abused the hell out of the filibuster to oppose anything and everything the dems have put forth, even when it went against their own interests or positions.
