The truth is health care costs have not risen as fast as anticipated, whether we are paying $2500/year less for a family of four than we would have if they kept rising at the higher rate, I can't say, but what kind of insurance did you have, the kind people get at McDonalds that had a payment cap?

I'm still waiting for someone here explain to me how and why is it ok that the unions get an Obama care exemption? They would have had to pay around $60 more a month to help the sick and poor. Yet that's too much. Why is ok that my family premiums have gone up more then that but they can't find it in their heart to help. Why is it ok for them to get a break? Is it because they are a large Obama donor. Did they just buy a president? Seems that way to me. How else would you explain it.

 

I can't help but wonder if the lack of a rush is related to them lying about the number of people enrolled.

We already know that the 2 million figure is the number of people who put a plan into their shopping cart. "Abandonment rate," guys! How many paid for it, how many got those payments to their insurers? This rush may never happen.

I'm not the one that hates. You must be talking about the unions. I'm paying higher premiums and deductibles to help the poor and sick. It's the unions that don't want to help. They hate the sick and poor so much they bought their way out if having to pay obamacare taxes. Not me. .

I have a question... how long do you have to be covered under an Obamacare plan before you don't get hit with the fine?

I mean do I have to pay for it for the entire 12 months to not get hit with the fine? 11 months and 30 days? 7 months? Where is the cutoff?

 

Don't quote me but I read if you quit paying your premium, your coverage extends for 3 months. Theoretically, if you keep switching companies after paying one month and getting 2 without paying, you could pay 4 times a year. I'll post it if I can find it again.

Obama Care's hardship exemptions are just chock full of loopholes...

I'll go through a few....

Young guys with roommates and millions of homeowners will love this one. Simply supply the eviction or foreclosure notice with your exemption application. It says "facing" eviction or foreclosure, there appears to be no actual requirement that either event actually takes place.

Here's another real keeper. Folks will simply not pay one utility till they get a shutoff notice, then pay off the balance to get back in good graces with the utility. Submit the shut off notice with a hardship application.

I might be able to use this one myself. I was making payments on a medical bill and they got cheesed off and sent me a big red past due notice stating the full amount was due and payable immediately. It will be less than 24 months as of April 15th 2014 so I can submit it for the first penalty year. All they can do is deny it.

A bonanza for those in Red States that chose NOT to expand Medicaid.

Pick your appropriate exemption and apply, what does anyone have to lose, they can only say no. Which may not happen prior to the Nov 2014 mid-term.
