House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the chamber will likely allocate more money for members of Congress to invest in additional security to protect them from the likes of violent rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 -- but also from the "enemy" within the House.

"We will probably need a supplemental [budget] for more security for members when the enemy is within the House of Representatives -- a threat that members are concerned about in addition to what is happening outside," Pelosi said during her weekly news conference Thursday at the Capitol.

When asked for clarification on what she means about the enemy within, Pelosi specifically called out fellow members of Congress.

It sounds like she is calling elected officials with no history of violence "the enemy" and is calling for protection her party works to deny us regular citizens.

Does this sound reasonable to anyone here?

    YES, it sounds reasonable.

Deadly Domestic Terrorists Mobs (Incited by Trump), represent a clear and present danger to Democratic House Members.

Why doesn't the Sea Hag and her jittery colleagues avail themselves of THEIR 2nd Amendment rights? I'll wager some do, they just don't broadcast it, LOL.

Known Terrorist Maxine Water's Speaker want more personal security guards, and items to protect them from Maxine like Terrorists after cops failed to keep horned BLM type barbarian "mostly peaceful" protestors from entering the building, and wants to disarm congresspeople from having their own guns to protect themselves, and is too much of a snake in the grass coward to call for impeachment of people like Maxine that threaten others in government; okay, got it.

Was a time when simply rudely interrupting another member of Congress would call for censure now you can call them "Terrorists".. So much for unity but i never expected class from Pelosi nor her to live by her own umm standards..

people that can't follow rules are a treat, cause maybe they don't follow gun safety either, these are heated debates at times, all we need it someone pulling a gun during a heated debate

Maybe that's why all those troops are there. Pelosi and the gang plan on declaring martial law and arresting all their enemies within Washington.

Alex Jones is probably having a field day with this.

Pelosi and Democrats are really losing their collective minds now. If she’s really afraid of her fellow colleagues she should just stay locked away in her mansion.

no, it's a house rule that members agreed on, it's their own rule

that is why I said rule, not law

"Wrong" is an opinion. It is my opinion that it is wrong for politicians to use my money for armed security while working to deny my second amendment rights.

we can't take a gun to the courtroom either, should everyone in the courtroom be allowed to carry a gun?

we have freedom of the press too, should they be allowed into private meetings, I mean the gov should not deny them their 1st Amendment rights - everything can be taken to extremes

Another good point. Judges enjoy armed protection and can get CCWs where ordinary citizens can't. (Los Angeles) There is a big difference between THEY and WE.

The House makes its own "rules." If someone doesn't want to obey them, they can be expelled by a two-thirds vote.
