Here’s list of VPs for you, starting with Truman’s 1948 running mate:

    Albin Barkley
    Henry Wallace 1940
    John Nance Garner 1932, 36
    Charles Curtis 1928
Charles Dawes 1924 He won the Noble Peace Prize while he was VP.
    Thomas Marshall 1912 & 16
James Sherman 1908 died in office
    Charles Fairbanks 1904

Most all of the 19th century VPs have been equally forgettable.

He dropped out with dignity. His decision NOT to endorse Trump is smart, and based on his integrity and values.

(something that the Trump crowd seriously lack )He KNOWS what it means to side with Trump. Nothing. It only serves Trump and the ones siding with him are totally dispensable. ) He stood up to Trump on Jan 6 and is separating himself from Trump more completely now. He is still tactful and diplomatic. Trump is and will do ANYTHING to win. Pence has ethical and moral boundaries. and will not get into the mud with Trump. There is no dignity in that.

Probably because they are concerned about being targeted by Trump (trashed ) and would like to leave their careers on their terms. Not due to Trump's toxic destructiveness.

In a way, this is how Trump CONTROLs people , The threats , the name calling, the verbal abuse and of course the ever present threat of being sued. And this is only getting more intensified.
Once they have little or nothing to lose. they become more open about him.

They are weak. Characters like Trump are only strong because weak people fail to unite and stand up to them. He cultivates a cult following while they just run and hide or even suck up to him (I'm especially looking at you, Lindsey Graham, you flip-flopping, spineless, yellow swamp creature!)

Being afraid of Trump factors in too. He can be lethal. (and has destroyed many people's reputations , careers, etc) He IS ruthless. Sadistic ,and in constant self preservation, self centered mode.

am aside but now he is planning to deport Prince Harry. He claims Harry lied on some papers. So Harry is now the target or Trumps vindictive arrow. Anything to sensationalize an issue and keep him in the media 24/7

He must have lackies feeding him dirt on his targeted enemies so he can use it as part of his vindictive actions.

I am glad he did what he did on Jan 6 and I am glad he has taken a position on NOT encorcing/ voting for Trump.

I found him a little too "relligious" in an too open way , in a job that dealt with governing based on logic and constructive political motions..

He knows how to keep himself in the news and looking like some kind of badass tough guy for the cult. They like it when he bullies anyone and everyone but them. It's how he "fights" for them.

you always have to throw a little group insult in there don't you? And then you like to pretend that you're civil.

Just so you know I quit reading the rest of your post after that

Heck, the MAGA crowd was chanting "kill Mike Pence". Who would want to see that again.

As for his political views, he is a solid Reagan Conservative fiscally and socially, but the GOP has abandoned those views, - and people with those views are now called RINO, which underlines the fact that modern GOP is anything but Reagan Conservative.

I have never heard the slogan, “Kill Mike Pence,” but it does make for some effective propaganda for the weak minded.

Its not a slogan, it's what the maga crowd was chanting at the Capitol, while Pence was inside. Actually, they chanted "hang Mike Pence" rather than "kill Mike Pence".

Rioters Chanted 'Hang Mike Pence' During Capitol Attack

    When was that?

15 U.S. vice presidents have gone on to become president themselves, beginning with John Adams.

What is significant - unprecedented even - is so many senior members of the Trump regime refusing to support the sexual abuser's recidivism.

No offense taken. This is just a discussion forum involving a group of strangers , nothing more. Any 'personal attacks" are irrelevant.

IF that is the case.... then Trump had his own motives for wanting Pence as VP. One theory might be is Pences quiet and passive personality. A yes , sir style of obedience to Trump. (Until he grew some gonads and stood up for the constitution AND saying publicly that he won't endorse Trump) Because Pence was such a "yes man'........ he lost credulity so not sure his words now, will have much influence.
Reality is that Trump will not/ cannot have a really strong person as VP. He is far too easily threatened, and is too competitive. As is obvious to everyone: Trump HAS to CONTROL those around him, and demands complete loyalty. ( a script right out the "godfather")

I guess you could be correct. If the Insurrectionists had hung Mike Pence, he may not have died. Either way, Trump could have watched it on TV.

Yes, it was "Hang Mike Pense" that was chanted. I recall watching that horror story live that awful day. Trump had to be "encouraged" to say something to calm and disperse that crowd. Well, one can see why, (from his perspective)....as they were his loyal and fanatical supporters. He relished their action as it was FOR HIM. The fact that Democracy was in peril was of no concern to him.

I disagree with some parts of your response but.....
I have to admit that President Trump did want a V. P. who would be somewhat obedient and supportive of his leadership.

I personally think of V. P. Pence as a traitor to America.....
as I personally understand the events surrounding January 6, 2021. I believe that V. P. Pence may see things very differently.....
and I suspect that in his own mind he may feel that Mike Pence was attempting to save America........
I believe that the pressure on Mike Pence to throw President Trump and three hundred and thirty million Americans under the bus.....
that came up on him by what Sir Winston Churchill might term "The High Cabal" and near death experiencer Rabbi Alon Anava might term "The Eruv Rav" would be so intense that a blue collar worker like myself cannot even begin to imagine the pressure that Mike Pence was under????!!!!!!

The same people who passed a script to Bill Gates for "innovating to zero" that he obediently read for them......
..... do not want President Trump to succeed in defending ordinary Americans.....
because the people who actually believe in Neo-Malthusian Economic Philosophy ACTUALLY BELIEVE THAT DEPOPULATION IS NECESSARY TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMEN FROM US OVERLY PRODUCTIVE AMERICANS AND CANADIANS!!!!!!!

There is more information on all of this over in this related discussion:

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...ash-the-markets.600585/page-2#post-1074719489

I suspect that Mike Pence may think that Dennis Tate is a naive moron???!!!!!

    In Mike Pence's favour....
I can see why he might wonder what in the world President Trump was doing when he appointed Dr. Tony Fauci to any position higher than that of a janitor!!!!!!!!!!?????? Whoever President Trump's advisors were who convinced him to appoint Dr. Tony Fauci....... they convinced him to make what sure appeared to me to be a COLOSSAL ERROR BY ANY CONCEIVABLE DEFINITION OF THE WORD 'ERROR!!!!!!!!!!"

    Two questions for you:
    1. Did Biden win the election of 2020?
    2. Did Trump do the right thing by waiting 3-1/2 hours before taking action, through the violence at the capitol, resulting in 7 deaths (# per Bipartisan Senate subsequent investigation, serious injuries to capitol police, and mental trauma?

I never cared much for Trump choosing him as a VP. He's becoming irrelevant.
