LMAO!!! If this is any indication of the train wreck that could be headed the Democrats' way in the Senate next year it's going to be a bloodbath. If 2016 was a year of anti-establishment fervor this poll suggests that it is spilling into this year and possibly beyond. I'm amazed that Kid Rock would do this well against a sitting Democratic senator in Michigan, of all places. Of course, the more immediate question is can he win the GOP primary. Either way, it looks like Republicans will be picking up a seat in MI. Looks like Democrats had better do something about the bad "progressive" ideology, policies and candidates that have cost them the House, Senate and now the White House (not to mention a majority of statehouses and governorships) since 2009. You would think that Democrats would have learned a long time ago that putting the interests of their party before the interests of the People is a losing proposition, but all they have to offer these days is more of the same...
When you Liberals ran Barack Obama with zero accomplishments, it set the stage for Trump and this kind of bullcrap. Don't start crying now that you opened Pandora's Box.
Baseball and football players, actors, actresses, musicians, etc have been in seats across all forms of government for a really long time. Earliest example off the top of my head is... Davy Crockett. How about actor Fred Thompson? Child star Shirley Temple? Musician Sonny Bono? The list goes on and on.
Yah a guy with a decade in public office including the us senate...vs a game show host and now a lousy singer. Totally realistic comparison. Didn't you guys run an actor back in 1979?
So so many have been in the halls on Capitol Hill, in legislative bodies across the country.... it's a really long list. He's another recent example.
You left out the most important part. HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING! Barack Obama was 99% Empty Suit. We all knew it, but the cult of personality pushed him through. Don't start crying now. To me Kid Rock is a non-starter, so was Trump, but you put up a Hillary Clinton or other Swamp Creature against him and he may just win. You Democrats need to quit the establishment and get on board with doing the people's work.
So, in your mind, the definitive portion of Trump's career is reality TV? Did you ever wonder how he got that gig to begin with? Really, no?
You think Trump is establishment? He played their game to rise up, but it is clear he finds them repulsive and is fighting to tear them down. The best thing about the GOP primaries is that all the anti-establishment candidates rose to the top: Trump, Cruz, Paul, and Carson. Yes. Trump is anti-establishment.
Uh, the Tea Party called to say, "Hi, remember us? We primaried about half the GOP establishment and won." The anti-establishment movement of the 1960's, is factually now the establishment.
You've somewhat touched on what is going on here. The anti-establishment sentiment running throughout the country is making outsiders an increasingly more attractive alternative to the career politicians and Washington insiders who have got their noses shoved down in the trough inside the Beltway.
True. Still, his lawyering certainly didn't make him famous. His role in law and order and many others did.
