Yes, I agree, although Pence would probably beat him. Trump, DeSantis or Cruz represent the hyper divisive politics which Americans are tired of.

Its a moot point, however, because Biden won't be running again.

Trump might be the only leading Republican candidate that Biden could beat. The Trump brand has become totally toxic to a large portion of the voters. The Biden brand is also becoming toxic, but since there more Democrats who will jump over a cliff for their party than Republicans, Biden would probably win.

In 2020, more voters voted AGAINST Trump than FOR Biden.

Very true, but it could be said that that was due to covid fatigue. Now that the pandemic is over and inflation is at record numbers they might turn back to him.

If certain polls are accurate it seems that Trump would win against Biden.

There are a lot of ways the Establishment can play it.

The truth is we don't know what kind of dirt/leverage they have against any of the other Republicans.

What they have on Trump, they've already spent. So if Trump runs, they can play it 3 ways,

    1) massive cheating - again, to carry whichever Dem over the finish line.

    2) crash the stock market and economy once Trump is in office, and blame it on him.

    3) kill him.

Not sure 3 is really an option for them, unless the ensuing Chaos is used as a trigger for collapse.

Number 1, cheating is a given; but, to cover such a large gap would require another foreshadowing crisis - another "pandemic-like" event, which is not out of the question.

Number 2 is the most likely to play out - it might already have been signed off on. Collapsing the economy is a given. Just depends on timing.

It's not about Republicans losing, it's about Democrats finally instuting their fascist agenda. Republicans had full control and they spent it investigating Trump. Or should I say, cheering on Democrats investigating Trump. The real criminals are in charge and they will never give up power again.

Given the crop of potential GOP candidates for president, Pence is a rose. I doubt he and I agree on much, but after 1/6 I can at least respect his character and honor.

I don't see any young Republicans on the horizon throwing their hat in the ring for President of the United States. The ones that are the potential Republicans are ones you can't trust. If Liz Cheney were to put her hat in the ring, there would be a chance for the Republicans to have a good candidate for President. As I can see, Cheney would give Republicans a fighting chance. If Trump tries to run and succeeds, look for more impeachments in the years to come and this country could fall into oblivion.

I have changed my point of view since I wrote that. I now think Pence should run, and he could win.

No, DeSantis and Cruz represent the Democrats who could win. I agree with you about Trump's demeanor.

You want Pence because he's the usual "country club Republican" who runs and loses and says, "I fought the good fight." Other "country club Republican losers" are Mitt Romney and the Bush family RINO. You like these guys because they always roll over and let you have what you want.

Tim Scott, the South Carolina senator might be the next person for you hate. He's be going to the Fox townhall meetings in the other states. He's definitely putting himself out there for a reason. Who would have ever believed that an African-American would be elected from South Carolina, which was the cradle of the Confederacy?

As for Biden, he wouldn't have enough brain cells left to run in 2024. If the Democrats get creamed in two weeks, the pressure will build from the party to get him out and replace him with Harris. Since she's African-American and a woman, it will take a couple of years for people to turn against her. She has no talents except those which come from identity politics.

I didn't say I wanted Pence, I said out of those 4 he could beat Biden. There are others in GOP who can beat him quite easily (if Biden runs, which he won't). DeSantis and Cruz are running on a platform of more division, and they calculate the populist vote is enough to beat Dem opponent. IMO, people have seen enough of it, and it won't be enough.

Bush won, - twice. You voted for Romney because he was the conservative choice, and now you hate him because he is not bending over to appease Trump

No, I dislike Romney because he sold out at the end of the 2012 election and didn't do well in the debate against Obama. I also dislike him because he voted for impeachment when there were no grounds to do so. He also marched with the Black Live Matter grifting group in Washington DC. He's a RINO.

Now, let's turn the tables. Before he voted for the "Inflation Reduction Act" (Ha Ha!), were you fan of Joe Mansion? I doubt it.

That's an opinion. Polls were made to inform. If people choose to act based on them, that's their choice. Not the fault of the poll.

The problem with the generic poll, which isn't to say it's useless, is that the person responding gets to decide what a "generic" republican is. What is the common definition of that? I don't think there is one. The generic poll is more predictive in Congressional races when looking at a party as a group. But in a highly individual race, such as the presidency, it's less predictive. The moment you add a name, as you can see, people are suddenly less enthusiastic about change as that comes with risks of new problem or problems they think Biden can solve being unsolved by say a DeSantis or Trump who either don't care are ill equipped to solve it.

Probably because your characterization of the facts is patently ludicrous.
