Let me get this straight. You don't see the poverty in your own red state as a problem because you don't see it. Yet poverty in other states with lower poverty rates is a problem because other people see it?

    Yikes!

I'm saying the quality of life in Dallas, Houston, and Austin is superior to that up north on a dollar-for-dollar basis.

Southern states from the beginning of the nation have been dominated by right-wing politicians. That does not mean there are not exceptions to aforementioned statement.

Fossil fuel industry is heavily subsidized by both the federal and state governments: supply-side socialism at its worst.

The KKK’s core belief is to restore America back to being a white, (fake) Christian nation free from drugs, homosexuality, immigration, and race-mixing, which the group attributes to the country’s downfall.

Republican Party is only for rich people and governmental entities known as corporations, which relies on big government for not only its creation, but its very survival.

Our higher poverty rates are driven by our large black population are you saying they are all deadbeats?

Yes and the poor got richer when the Republicans had majority control starting in 1996 through 2006. We had a great economy, a recession in the middle, and then another great economy. So how did the Democrats do 2007 through 2014?

Which of the ten poorest red states moved out of the bottom ten when Bush was president?

Due to supply-side socialism, the higher poverty rates are driven by wealth redistribution from the working poor and middle class to the deadbeat rich, like Crooked Donnie.
In the course of his adult life, Deadbeat Donnie has received nearly 900 million dollars of hand-outs from local, state, and federal governments. Of course, that does not include stiffing workers, businesses, and consumers.

Con artists loooove big government and its socialistic programs, as long as it favors the rich and sticks it to everybody else.

No due to a lack of achievement so try again your hyperbole notwithstanding.

Our higher poverty rates are driven by our large black population are you saying they are all deadbeats?

    - - - Updated - - -

But they got wealthier, you know the point. Are they poorer now after ten years of Democrat trickle up, you betcha. So a good dose of supply side is drastically needed.

And everywhere up north is like the South Bronx or South Chicago.

    Let's talk in stereotypes.

Look at poverty this way, the blue state of Hawaii says you need to make $33.00 an hour to equal being on welfare. Red state Idaho says you need to make $6.00 hr. Which state has more scum bag trash living in it?

Hawaii gives the federal government more in taxes than it takes. It is not a drain like red states

And they offer the best quality of life. A 3,000 square foot home with a pool in the Dallas suburbs is so much better than a 700 square foot apartment in NYC.

My wife is from California and we took a trip there a few years back. She said California is very expensive to live in. Like New York City an apartment in some places can run you about $1,000 dollars a month. I am paying a mortgage for my home here in Iowa for about $500 dollars a month. Which sounds better to you?

Let's look at it another way. California and New York City have a ton of jobs because of the massive cities they have. States like Iowa does not have a lot of jobs and many have moved to Mexico. We have also had a lot of Mexican's coming to Iowa. A lot of them speak no english and have only been in the states for several months so in my opinion the state is being over crowded and there is not enough jobs for everyone.

When Maytag in Newton disappeared close to 2,000 jobs were lost. It is hard to replace those jobs. Millions of dollars were also lost. Maytag built a park and the whole community was thriving. After Maytag shut down the city was not doing so good untill some smaller factories came to town and many small businesses went under. NAFTA put into effect by Bush and Bill helped kill Maytag although it was actually the CEO a former whirlpool employee who sold the company to whirlpool. Maytag did send a lot of jobs to Mexico and I heard a factory in IL closed down leaving 5,000 people without jobs. My point is many red states have been ruined by NAFTA and the jobs are no longer here. Add to that the thousands of illegals and refugees flooding the states and we just can't keep up anymore. We need jobs back.

Again I want to add many of these rural red states provide most of the food the country eats. Without us you would probably starve or eat fish. Iowa alone is one of the biggest corn producers in the world that not only feeds humans but many animals including cows. Without corn the whole livestock industry would suffer. Red states are not a drain on this country and if we want this country to be great again we need to help out everyone.

Nobody cares about per capita. Poor people are still poor people. 8+ million in CA is still bad. Hillary put into effect some of those welfare programs. Did you vote for her?
