which models were those? scientists I have heard have mentioned sea rises considerably less than that - but ... and over a longer period (certainly not before the end of te crrent century). but if you have a source for tehse 15 metre rises, I am willing to look at it.

Even if America cut its CO2 production in half, China would more than fill the gap, what do you propose for emerging economies? Do you plan to invade China if it does not diminish its CO2 production? I am all for sensible reductions in CO2 and a move to a more renewable future, but you can not wholesale destroy the economy over this. It needs to be a sensible revolution, not an all or nothing approach.
this discussion has been gone over for decades ... and in fact if the US did half of what china is doing in relation to renewables, we would see improvements.

Do you really think that China cares about renewables? I hear all the rose colored glass talk about China and renewables, but personally I will believe it when I see it. Besides its still only talking about less than 1% of its power from it. As someone posted earlier 600 GW from coal 10 GW from renewables, just a mere (*)(*)(*)(*) in the bucket. I too wish there was some magic renewable, sustainable, non polluting energy, but alas, I have to believe the scientist when they say we are decades if not generations away from that.
