This time it's not hype, there is fear of a pandemic. They say that it was brought on by bats, since they have the unique ability of carrying dangerous viruses without getting sick themselves.

In China where 40 million are quarantined and can't leave, there are rumors going around that Washington caused it to destroy their economy. This would explain the video of quarantined Chinese singing their national anthem from their apartment windows. No doubt it's an affront to us.

This doesn't mean that it wouldn't be beyond Washington to use germ warfare, after all we do have military labs in Georgia and Ukraine. The problem though, is how can Washington program virus' to distinguish between friend and foe? Not that they aren't trying. It wasn't too long ago, the American Air Force was paying people to gather DNA from ethnic Russians.

 

And a lot smarter than us.

Seems pretty self-explanatory to me....

 

It makes them smart.

 

Even back in the mid-1960's, nearly all major countries -- including the U. S. -- had different varieties of "CBW" warfare methodologies (chemical/biological warfare). During my enlistment in the military during that general period of time, I became 'aware' of these CBW technologies....

Today, of course, as you point out, we have DNA to work with... interesting.

 

I'm under the impression that a lot of the people of eastern Russia are ethnic Chinese. They might cross the border from time to time to visit relatives in China as well as return to Russia to work.

So, Russia closing the border is a smart thing to do.

It is just a matter of time before we have another Spanish flu type of virus. That virus killed more people than ww1 if I recall correctly .

Only 12.6% of China's land is arable (useful for growing food crops), and that's part of why they like to buy food from the U. S. and other countries. Chinese make up approximately 20% of the current population of the world. Forty years ago, about 15% of their land could grow food crops, so they're losing more and more arable land, slowly, although agricultural production-per-acre is much more fruitful and efficient than it was long ago.

Their economy is structured to require a nominal amount of ongoing internal consumption, plus a lot of annual growth... and that's based on sheer tonnage of human beings. Looks like a rather 'delicate balance' they've got to work with....

Too few people and their internal economy goes to hell.

 

You don't think it's rather contradictory? Your earlier link states, "Sixteen out of the 25 crossings along the Russian-Chinese border will be closed ..." That still leaves 9 border crossings open. You might argue the question of international airport access but 'along the border' is synonymous with 'land border'.

 

I wish Australia would stop flights from China.

 

Europeans have been saying that about flights from Australia for decades.

 

They didn't close ALL 2,670 miles of Russia's border with China immediately, Thingy... you can't just snap your fingers and accomplish something like that with a 'knife-edge roll'. But, by Monday, the Russians say they'll have the border shut -- and that will include all Chinese entry to St. Petersburg, and, to Kaliningrad Oblast -- far away from the border.

I would disagree with you on the "finger snapping". The opening of the famed 'Iron Curtain' was accomplished with a single sentence and was implemented immediately. Have you forgotten?

Evidently Corona can 'kneecap' the stock markets -- especially those that were already grotesquely OVERVALUED by about 70%....

If it weren't constantly being propped-up by the Federal Reserve central bank combine, the Dow might very well be 10,000 points lower than it is right now. And that may yet happen, if the market becomes BASED ON REAL WORTH, instead of imaginary money, continually crushed interest rates, a constantly weak dollar, and, bullshit....
