Russia's economy is smaller than South Korea's. Yes, they have nukes, but they would be committing suicide if used. For America, not so much.

If this was only a competition between Russia and NATO I can’t imagine Russia could prevail. But it’s not. My concern is that if this does lead to combat there are other bad actors, like Iran and China, who would take the opportunity provided by our entanglements to pursue their own agendas. Do we want to fight three wars at once?

Biden infers Putin might get by with a "minor incursion" into Ukraine ?!

Surely Putin isn't fooled by this psy-ops.

This is how the US tricked Saddam - by inferring the US might not respond to Saddam moving troops into Kuwait.

Meanwhile the US propaganda mill was ready with its "Saddam's troops are throwing Kuwait babies out of incubators" BIG LIE !!

And the first Iraq war began...

Biden predicts Russia 'will move in' to Ukraine, but says 'minor incursion' may prompt discussion over consequences

" (CNN) - President Joe Biden on Wednesday predicted Russia "will move in" to Ukraine, citing existential concerns by the country's president, Vladimir Putin, even as he acknowledged disunity within NATO over how to respond to a "minor incursion."

I'm not so sure European allies are ready to stake their honor on defending Ukraine to the end. We can make it very costly for Russia to invade Ukraine but I don't believe we should float the illusion we welcome them into NATO. Ukraine has a long way to go to prove they are a credible Nation.

The problem isn't a Russian or Chinese inability (w/o even having to fire a shot) to bring down the house of cards that is the global economic Ponzi-scheme with the US at the top of its pyramid and, with it, the American empire worldwide. The problem is that the Russians and Chinese don't have a clear idea (ideology) to motivate them, besides asking for more pieces of the pie and more due respect by powers who see them as needed rivals and adversaries for the Ponzi-scheme to work for them, while the Russians (and Chinese) simply want to be accepted as full-fledged partners.

If I were Iran's leader, I wouldn't the trust Russia as far as I could throw them. They weren't willing to stick by even Assad in the early days of the Syrian civil war, when "Assad must go" was the mantra the Americans had turned into a popular jingle and the only thing the Russians were willing to do was not to sing along with a happy face. Or take Venezuela, so far from Iran (which is effectively under the strictest constraints and sanctions you can imagine), and compare how much Russia could have done but didn't when America was turning Venezuela into an impoverished basket case of corruption and thuggery.

With help from Iran, Venezuela doubles oil production despite U.S. sanctions

Which part? Are you referring to Russia's declaration they won't let their citizens be killed by NATO's weapons or the United Nation's Responsibility to Act (R2P)? The answer is yes and yes. And this is what is wrong with the international fake news community that doesn't know what the hell Ukraine is doing in the Donbass.

I know many people don't like the "messenger"....
my question was about that specific "message"
Putin legally able to protect Russians in Ukraine.
US/NATO used similar excuse to invade Kosovo.
