I congratulate all the haters of Russia. It seems that US shipments of MANPADS reached their destinations. Today, from the MANPADS, for the first time in the entire Syrian war, the Russian Su-25 was shot down. The pilot was killed after the bailout. The terrorists from Jays al-Nasr today have a holiday. However, like all the others supporting terrorists.

This is the first downed Russian plane, shot down by terrorists. And this is the first Russian airplane, shot down from MANPADS.

Where did terrorists get MANPADS? Obviously, not from Russia and not from Iran.

But the story says they're Syrian rebels, not terrorists. If they're not with IS, and indeed they shouldn't be in that part of Syria at this point in time (I've heard that glorious Russia has beaten IS), then the plane was not shot down by terrorists, but by Syrian freedom fighters who were no doubt being attacked by your forces, who are there to support the dictator against whom these rebels are fighting.

Yes russia has been, upon invitation, ask to help a leader of a sovereign nation protect syria from anyone who would take down a sovereign gov't. The US on the other hand, a perpetual breaker of international law is doing what we have come to expect from our country. Indulging in criminal activities wherever we want to. That is the fact of the matter. Spin away boys! And then jump into the river of denial. The light of truth would incinerate some of you fellers. Be like sunlight hitting a vampire. lol

My, such dramatic language. Assad's murderous regime is not worthy of being described as a sovereign government (I notice you've wisely avoided trying to claim it's legitimate). So we support the Syrian people who don't want to be killed simply because they want to elect their leader and run their own country.

But, to keep with your theme, vampire Putin supports his fellow bloodsucker for strategic reasons.

The language of truth appears dramatic to those who would deny the truth. Hey, you would let me piss on your leg and believe me when I told you the yellow fluid was just pure rain, coming from the sky. Perhaps you should read international law which we, our smarter ancestors, helped to write post ww2? It is right there, and not at all hard to understand. Perhaps you should check on why this law was written in the first place? Well, here is a hint..to keep nations from doing what we have done, habitually for a long time. In the interest of saving lives and peace over wars of aggression, against other nations. In your manufactured reality, the US is not an aggressive nation. And would never break international law. lol And never has. lol You are a comedian. I just find your humor a bit weird.

Not sure what the situation is now but, most of the actual rebels - those fighting against Assad as opposed to the Kurds who are not - are "terrorists" - Islamist extremists.

Why would the Kurds shoot down a Russian fighter ? Turkish .. for sure , but not Russian.

Jaysh Al-Nasr not ISIS. But, whatever they say in the West, it is a terrorist organization. And it often organized acts of terror, and actively cooperates with other terrorist groups.

You need to stop ingesting so much state propaganda. Assad is no cherub but, the fact of the matter is that the folks he was killing were "terrorists" Islamist extremists.

Assad was elected by his own people.

Ah, that's what we had to start with. Unfortunately, with this diagnosis I can not help you at all.

I do not think that the Kurds are directly involved in this attack. Russia (like the US) is an unofficial ally of the Kurds in the confrontation with the Turks.

But giving MANPADS to Kurds is a great stupidity. Weapons in the Middle East tend to change their owners very quickly. And what is delivered today to the Kurds, tomorrow will be everywhere. Therefore, the question of where the Syrian opposition has MANPADS has not so many options for an answer.

I agree that it is very unlikely to have been the Kurds - unless they thought it was a Turkish jet and this was a mistake.

I also agree that it is incredibly irresponsible to be giving terrorists SAM's. We already know that ISIS/ Al Qaeda-Al Nusra were given MANPADs which is loonie tunes ... something that is "not fit for discussion" in the mainstream media.

MANPAD's have been around in one form or another since the 1940's, and many different countries, including the old Soviet Union, and Russia, have manufactured them.

Is it known for a fact that the MANPAD's in use in Syria against Russian aircraft were provided by the United States?

Back in December, on a visit to Syria, Putin said, "If terrorists will raise their heads ever again, we will strike them with such force that they have never seen before".

Wait for it .... it's coming.

Terrorists to some are allies to another. Sometimes it is hard to decipher one form another especially in the shithole that is the mid-east.

Russia is fighting in Syria for the third year already. And this was the first use of MANPADS for all this time. And almost immediately after the information appeared about the deliveries of the American MANPADS to the Kurds. An amazing coincidence.

Terrorists are those who use the tactics of terror. Conducts terrorist attacks, deliberately destroys the civilian population and the like. Jabhat al-Nusra uses this for his own purposes. Therefore, this organization must be considered terrorist.

Russian aviation struck a blow at the site of the concentration of militants in the area of the shot down Su-25. It is alleged that, according to the radio intercept, about 30 militants were killed. Our pilot, of course, will not return, but at least some hot revenge.

A cold revenge should be the one from whom the MANPADs got there.

Drawing conclusions on the new photos, the pilot, however, landed alive, until the last led the fight and then blew himself up with a grenade to avoid being captured by the Islamists.

According to RT, Tahrir al-Sham (formerly al-Qaeda in Syria) has claimed responsibility.
