Putin controls the killers. This is how corrupt government looks and works, and Americans need to pay close attention so that we don't end up in a similar situation.

Crimea belongs to the Tatars, had Soviets not liquidated them in WW2, they would have been a big population there.

I am starting to have feeling I am witnessing reneactment of 'The Cuckoo and The Rooster'. Where on this forum goes the actual discussion of politics?

From the Khazars to the Tatars Crimea was almost always apart of a Turkic speaking people, that is until Russia conquered the Crimean Khanate, and bought in Russian, and Ukrainian settlers.

But, obviously many Tatars also were assimilated.

Is there even much of a difference in facial features between the Tatars, and Slavs of Crimea?
    I didn't think so.
    Do you?

Well didn't stalin deport most Crimean Tatars in spring 1944, after Germans retreated, who allied themselves with the "Nazis", to give the Russians a thrashing?

It was a difficult period, Nazis preferred that you'd starve, and burn to death, while Soviets preferred you'd starve, and freeze to death.

Very few powers were very acceptable during this time period, in Europe at least.

I'd say Poland was the most acceptable during this time period, having stood up to both the Nazi, and Soviet menace.

Other notable mentions include Finland, and Greece who also fought both the Nazi, and Soviet menace.

But, truth be told most of Europe at the time either appeased one side, or the other.

Even Nazis, and Soviets in the beginning appeased each other, in the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, and also in the German - Soviet Credit Agreement.

Are you a propagandist? Or you just find pleasure in calling specific political ideologies a 'menace'?

    - - - Updated - - -

Well, as I said - I would like to know which section of political forum is used for actual political discussions. Where regulard people may share their opinions and concerns, and exchange points of view.

Between Soviets, and Nazis as many as 100 million were killed.

The irony is that even though most of those killed by both regimes were Russians, it's also Russia which has the biggest number of Soviet, and Nazi supporters in recent years.

What calculation are you using? Are you countring all soviet regimes? Are you counting all nacistic regimes? Are you mentioning specific countries? Some specific events? How you differ people who died, from people who been murdered? 'between' is where?

Do you mean ethnic russians? Soviet citizens? What meaning do you place in word 'Russian'? Is it a correct scientific term?

Source? Who did the calculations? 'biggest' compared to what? Is in sheer numbers, or in percents? By 'soviet' you mean members of geristered communist parties of RF? What exactly do you mean by 'nazy'? Patriotic organizations? Outlawed neo-nazi movements? Monarchists?

Well Krauts like burning, ovens comes to mind, quicker death but ugly, Muscovites like to freeze since Muscovy covered in ice and permafrost, and freezing is a little more time, but neither option good. Polaks yes fought both commies and Nazis. Finland had Mannerheim, the spin-offs you can see to today.

Sadly, that is a good question. People around here only seem to be laid back when not discussing politics or religion, like at http://www.politicalforum.com/member-casual-chat/490106-smarties-bar-grill-66-a.html

For some reason, they can't discuss politics calmly and maturely, but have to "kibitz" and troll all the freaking time instead.

Yeah. It's funny how we have some pretty strict rules here, yet the discussion is still wild and silly, and not what you might call erudite. This site seems to reflect the internet at large. It's full of people with little knowledge but no shortage of opinions and a desire to fight with people they don't know personally or even by name.

I.. Am not sure it is, I only observed same few people, for the most part. Though, if you know some potential alternatives to this website, I wouldn't mind taking a peek. ^^

Not better alternatives. You could check out the Pravda forum (engforum.pravda.ru) if you'd like some laughs, though. :D

"That would've been so funny, if it was not so sad." (с) M. Lermontov, from poem 'To A.O. Smirnova'. Became a public proverb.

I honestly had plenty of laughs of such kind, for too long.
