Show me any evangelicals that are bashing Romney over his religion. I want major figures, not some cherry picked pastor at the six pew Church of God in backwater podunkum Indiana.

And I don't mean James Hagee!

Of course they were. They were both christians. Bush was a bible thumper trying to ram his beliefs down peoples throats like unborn babies shouldn't be killed just for the fun of it.

And let's not forget, Romney was a mormon pastor. How is he going to be better at getting moderates?

Santorum is a christian who deeply cares about his family and puts his family before the campaign. Romney will do or say anything to win. I think Santorum is going to take this. I could be wrong.

People say things to get elected but I don't think Bush I was a Bible beater. Bush II was a different matter.

Hagee would support Romney 100%. So will I. Evangelicals are vary good to mormons. It's liberals that don't like them.

I just don't like the baggage of the Mormon church in regard its racist doctrines. The media is going to jump on it, and I think it's going to become a circus. Mormons really do believe black skin is a curse, that was only commuted in 1978. I'm not making it up. The media is going to demand that Romney admit his church was wrong for excluding blacks from full participation as long as it did. He will refuse.

He may find a way to get by it and win, but I'm afraid it's going to hurt him badly.

I know the man is not racist. But the theology of his church is, and he's not willing to disavow himself from them.

I'm talking about Bush 2. And he got independents. In fact, only the bible thumpers seem to them them. Bush 1 didn't.

    Errr... Hagee?

Romney has run for governor and Senate in MA. He has run for president twice and no major network has asked him anything about the Mormon churches racist past. Frankly if that was an exclusion from the White House no Southern Baptists could run.

I know about the mormon crap with blacks. But the entire nation of Australia didn't rescind the "white Australia" policy until the very same year If memory serves me correctly. All he has to do is point to that and say people grow and learn. it's what America is all about.

My hometown Knoxville, Tennessee was the first in the entire nation to pay black teachers the same as whites. That includes New York. Should I be able to point at somebody from New York and call them Racists?

Wow, where have you been. Romney was getting so much grief about his church he had to give a speech about it. And Tim Russert grilled him on the racism issue when he was running last time. Romney refused to say his church's racism was wrong. And Romney wasn't even the nominee last year. But that still don't stop MSNBC from railing on his church race ties 24/7.

The Hagee slave thing was funny. People need to relax.

No, nor do I think Romney is a racist. The problem is, you and I can call past racism wrong without blinking an eye. Romney can't. His church won't tolerate it. Romney to this day believes black skin was a curse. He feels sorry for blacks, and he's relieved the curse was lifted, but also believes they rebelled in a past life and paid the price.

I'll support the guy 100% if he wins. I just don't look forward to the mormon circus that will surely follow.

This is not about evangelicals, it's about racial sensitivity and the media. It's a circus I'd rather not have to deal with.

Mormonism in general. Not the racist elements that you are obsessing about. There are been tons of debates and a few interviews and I have NEVER heard anyone ask him about Mormonism and race. I'm not saying it hasn't happened. Just that if it has it's been so rare I've never heard about it. Actually that is one thing I like about Romney none of this racist stuff. No birther stuff. No Muslim crap. Unlike Hagee and his disgusting racist followers Romney has steered clear of that garbage. It's sad that that is how low of a bar I have for Republicans. As long as they aren't spewing hate against some group in society I actually think they are pretty good. Sad.

FYI Kennedy gave a speech on his religion. No racist allegations were swirling around about his church.

This is a lie. Just like 98% of Catholics don't believe in the prohibition on contraception. Don't stir up trouble where there is none. Romney is great on race relations... at least for a Republican. Frankly if all Republicans were like him on race relations it would go a long way to improving things in this country.

So, to defend Romney you're telling Hagee a racist? Otherwise I'm not sure what you're ranting about.

And again, for the millionth time, I'm not calling Romney a racist. I don't think he is. Nor do I think Hagee is, as you are claiming for some bizarre reason.

I'm merely saying that mormon theology is racist, and they will hang it around Romney's neck. That means that I and everyone else are going to have to defend him. It's going to be a huge distraction. We're better off not having him as the nominee.

I can't believe there are people dumb enough to believe that Santorum can bet Obama in a presidential election.

I am NOT defending Romney. I am telling the truth.

    98%??

I can see where this is going. The fact is, the Book of Mormon speaks in many places about curses causing dark skin. Brigham Young actually decreed the death penalty for those having sexual relations with blacks. And blacks have been excluded from full participation in the mormon church up until 1978 when new revelation revealed the curse was finally lifted.

First we have to tell the truth. Then we can give our opinion. I don't believe most mormons today are racist in that they believe blacks are cursed. But they do believe that blacks were curses just a few decades ago. That's a fact. Romney was asked about this point blank and refused to deny it.

Now do you really think this issue isn't going to be brought up by the nation media?
