Any Christian that laughs at the thought of a real Satan causing trouble...needs to evaluate or get a little closer to their faith. Catholic or Protestant. Bible-Believing Protestants are right with him.
Intelligent and thoughtful religious people tend to reject the idea of a literal and interventionist Satan!! It is the absurd fantasy of pre-modern people, who had no other means of explaining complex natural phenomenon. We should have progressed beyond that point now, but our iron age superstitions seem to be quite enduring and stubborn!!
Actually...people who veer a way from God and start looking at their "own religion" are vulnerable to the trickery of Satan.
The trickery of Satan? There is obviously no way to contradict a position held despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, and despite that postion having no foundation in evidence, but is instead entirely based on faith!! It is a waste of my time and yours for me to try to convince you that your faith is wrong, just as it would be for you to try to convince me my faith is wrong. One cannot use reason and evidence to disprove a position originally arrived at without reference to reason or evidence!!
Well...Satan is so powerful over a person living their own religion.....I couldn't get them to see it any way. Not without the wisdom of God shedding some truth. But more importantly....there are a good chunk of Bible-believers out there. AND even if people aren't sure....they are darn well sure Obama isn't where they want to be.
Wait this post is all over the place!! What does Obama have to do with it? Are you saying in comparison to Santorum? Can I choose neither? Is that not an option? PS. God sheds truth on many things to many people, and often those truths directly contradict each other!! So even if I had an experience I believe was divine, what would that mean? Millions of others before me have as well, and what if my experience contradicts theirs? Should I be so arrogant as to assume that my experience is better or more accurate than theirs? Should I be arrogant enough to assume that I would be capable of understanding the will of an infinite, unbound, creator of the universe? I am not so sure!! I suppose that level of thoughtfulness is bad for faith though.....
The National (Democratic Party) Media will give this more coverage than: Obama Donor Receives $433,000,000 No-Bid Contract for Experimental Smallpox Drug Nancy Pelosi's Brother-In-Law Given $737,000,000 of Tax Payer Money in Green Power Scandal (Note: Smallpox is of little to no threat as the U.S. Government already maintains a stock of vaccines for every man, woman, and child in the U.S.A.) Obama Administration Pressured a Four Star General to Alter Testimony to Protect Donor Obama Administration DREAM ACT by Executive Memo Tony Rezko Sentenced to 10 ½ Years for Kickback Scheme as well as his strong ties to Barack Obama and how Barack Obama got his mansion in Chicago from Rezko in a shading under market and tax fraud deal. Obama Supreme Court Justice Kaganss role in Obamacare and Refusal to Recuse Herself United States Boots on the Ground in Libyan War Crimes at Occupy Wall Street (OWS) Murder, Rape, Child Molestation, Assault, Theft, and much more Solyndra - $535,000,000 Given to Obama Fundraiser Fast and Furious (U.S. Government Force Gun Sales to Mexican Drug Gangs U.S. Agent Murdered Along with over 200 Mexican Citizens) Audit of the Federal Reserve and the $17 TRILLION Given to Foreign and Domestic Banks. Our media is completely bankrupt of any Fair and Balanced coverage that it is disgusting. I am sure Rick will get tons of coverage.
That kind of stuff might be considered 'normal' for a Catholic, but for most people, someone like that is bat(*)(*)(*)(*) crazy. I doubt people will want a President who goes on about the country being attacked by a demon.
Obama's favorite author, Saul Alinsky, devoted his book "Rules for Radicals" to "the original radical, Lucifer". I don't think Santorum is far off. Although he wasn't addressing Obama at the time of the video in question.
But they accept a president that cites scripture to promote more taxes eh? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSQlrZxotDs"]Render Unto Obama? Are the President's Polices Really Guided by the Gospels? - YouTube[/ame]
As long as Obama doesn't crap on about demons, its okay. I wouldn't have used religion to justify promoting more taxes, though.
It's not the protestant churches who are swamped with pedophile priests and bishops, and a hierarchy that sweeps every scandal under the rug. Catholics have nothing to be smug about, and they might try to invent a rite to remove sexual perverts posing as priests from their churches. Their official beliefs are more in tune with the medieval idiocy of Muslim extremists than with the lives of their flocks today, which is why most catholics sensibly ignore the nonsense about contraception and satanism that they try to preach. Santorum keeps playing to the lunatic fringe and those are about the only votes he will get at the election if the cons are dumb enough to let him get nominated. The repubs have finally hit bottom by courting this cretin. Looking back at their primary campaign, what we see is a reckless slide into greater extremism as they shop around for a candidate. From Palin to Santorum, with all of the clowns that have come and gone in between, their road just leads down and down, ever deeper into the gutter. I have never seen such a sorry, embarrassing spectacle in political campaigns.
These are the same people who condemned President Carter for telling the American people that the country was suffering from a malaise.
Prove it. Should be as simple as proving god exists. I'll wait. Meanwhile you have in Santorum yet another certifiable religious lunatic.
Good post! The Left's playbook (Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky) was dedicated to Satan. "Opening page - Dedication Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history... the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom Lucifer. http://www.crossroad.to/Quotes/communism/alinsky.htm _
I take it you wont be voting for Obama either. Since he has actually put a policy forward fashioned in such a way that the Son of God would approve of it.
Any real Christian believes that the evil power known as Satan, the Devil, and other names is constantly attacking mankind and the will of God. But that doesn't make for a good political platform when a candidate is running for a Federal elected office, like Senator or President. Santorum would be wise to concentrate on issues that affect the economy and security of the United States and get off his rants about religion, morals, and the abortion issue. It may get good reviews from most of us on the Right but it will lose the election in a landslide.
Most Catholics would find that crazy talk. No not all (not even a mayority) of Catholics actually believe the devil walks among us. In africa perhaps? Doubt in the western world you would have dozens. ...
Of course, almost no one on the left has read that book, and it is just the delusional ramblings of mentally unstable right wingers, that ever get that book brought up. However, even excepting the fact that no one on the left reads that book, who cares even if they did? It is stupid either way!!
He has. This speech is from 2008, and was dug up to paint him as a zealot. Every interview I have seem of him that turns to his faith, it is the interviewer not Santorum, that brings the subject up.
Of course, he is running for president now, such crazy talk doesnt fit into that. Still doesnt change the fact that he said it not that long ago.
And of course at that point Santorum will tell the interviewer that his faith is irrelevant. Won't he?
