Santorum will be adding fuel to the "why gays should get everything they want" fire by lumping them in with all the other hellfire and brimstone categories Santorum is spouting about.

The only objections to gays mainstreaming their behaviors should be secular. All others are merely "my religion is better than yours". R. Maddow is jumping all of over this to promote "poor gays persecuted by madmen like Santorum!". He might as well get on Maddow's payroll for the help he's giving her tired-trick. I thought MSNBC put a muzzle on her when they changed ownership. The only thing more bizarre and off-putting than Santorum's religious rantings are Maddow's religious rantings about gays. She starts to stutter and get all manic, with a wild look in her eyes and an uncontrolled nervous cackle. Or even more chilling, that self-satisfied diabolical smile she gets when she thinks the gay momentum has gained another notch. I find myself feeling embarassed for her and switching over to CNN or Fox just to get relief.

Yet it's true that Santorum is ranting. Maddow would know if anyone would. Santorum should change is last name to "Sanitorium", because that's where he belongs at this point..

I'm not a believer myself, so when Santorum or Obama or Pelosi start talking about Jesus and how the bible guides their every move, I fail to see the difference. One person talking about Jesus seems no different to me than another talking about Satan.

Why is it that the left attacks the religious belief's of those they disagree with politically, but ignore those identical beliefs of those they with whom they agree. It is exceedingly common for liberals to bash religion yet they never seem bash their own politicians when they "claim" to be deeply religious. I realize Obama and Pelosi are probably just pretending to be religious whenever they think it might work to their advantage and that you liberals have no problems with politicians lying (as long as it is your own), but isn't that far worse than actually having faith?

I wouldn't be surprised if most of both parties fake it.

It's hard to believe someone believes in a god that punishes sin when you look at what most people have to do to reach the highest levels of power.

More than anything, religion is a tool used to manipulate others anytime politics are involved. It's the easiest way to gain credibility among the faithful.

Do the song and dance, and you get brownie points regardless of whether or not you're actually accomplishing something.

We wouldn't expect a non believer to believe in the devil. I mean if you don't believe in God, why should you believe in the devil?

Believe it or not, many people believe that satin has been working very hard in this country lately. I mean I remember when we use to believe the air was clean and sex was dirty. I don't remember a time before the 1960's when we ever had a school shooting. Now it happens every year, some times twice a year. I can't remember the time when kids acted so bad in school that teachers couldn't teach or control the class room. I can remember the time when getting pregnant out of marriage was considered awful. I don't remember the time when people looked down on people being Christians as they do today. I remember the time kids were afraid to talk back to their parents. Forget about ever cussing in front of them, or any adult or girl. I remember when you could send your kids to the movies and not worry about what they were seeing. I can remember when we didn't have to worry about the music they heard, even if we didn't like it. No one would believe they would put out this rap, talking of killing policemen or raping your mother. I don't remember one kid I knew that had ever tried drugs, even though I know it was out there. I remember the lock on our front door was broken and Dad never worried about fixing it. I remember we didn't need bike locks or car alarms. People didn't steal things like they do today.

Yes, I think Santorum was right on target. How else can we explain the total breakdown of humanity and decency in this country?

I agree. Thank God Satan wasn't working overtime back in the good ol' days when nothing bad happened in America and everyone was doing great!

I'm Catholic, but I don't believe there's a Devil, but I do believe in birth control.
Ironically, I'm probably in the Catholic majority.

Exactly. Leaders of nations have to do some pretty bad things "in the name of their country", but by all accounts gods law supercedes national law. I find it hard to believe that anyone would place themself in the position of going to hell.

Yes the time of holocaust and worl wars , of segregation, of locking up tens of thousands of US citizens because of heritage of hunting down and creating a paranoia for communists , being on the brink of nuclear war and tens of thousands of nukes pointed at each other really was a better time.

And thats what you will get with santorum, a return to days the western countries havent seen in a long time.

But dont worry, USA has enough laws to protect it from madmen like that.
