I am not the one who brought animals into this discussion, I was simply pointing out a fact in response to the ignorant post that if animals do something so should humans.

Yes......… that is where I am at at this stage in my life.

I have an experiment in mind for AboveAlpha that may take one percent of his time over four years....... but if he is willing to conduct this same experiment that I also began back in 1990........... I am 99% certain that he will have an answer to his question before the year 2020.

Back in 1990...… I stuck my right hand up in the air and I quoted.....

    http://www.blueletterbible.org/Bible.cfm?b=Isa&c=45&t=KJV

    Isaiah 45:1

"Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;"

At the time that I did this my attitude was terrible...… I was jealous that a Gentile could be guided at an obviously higher level than the majority of us who feel that we are serving the Creator........... and I prayed that I wanted a similar level of guidance to what had been given to "that Gentile guy!"

Only The Ancient of Days and the Messiah to whom all judgment of humans.....(or at least of Christians)...… has been committed will know if this is true or not but....... I strongly suspect that by offering my right hand to the higher power presented in the Jewish and Christian scriptures........... and admitting that I knew virtually nothing for certain....... and offering to attempt to follow that guidance.........… in an effort to alter the future for the better and even play a game of chess with five billion unlimited movement variables........ in such a way that the Adversary was less bored than he / she had been in the past..............

I think that I have been given some aspects of what could be termed "Cyrus Consciousness for Christians?"

Personally..... I am convinced that Messiah Yeshua - Jesus is the ultimate Cyrus and deals with people who were raised in an entirely different belief system with great mercy and takes into consideration how they understood their scriptures....... whether they did so in an attempt to be truly honest and altruistic.......... or did they use scriptures in a highly selfish and biased manner?

It is intriguing how often a Christian near death experiencer will be shown somebody from another religion........ being taken into "paradise/ heaven" and shown some former Christians going downward into a Void...… type experience?!

I have came to believe that there are some clearly different types of literature from Genesis to Revelation.

Significant portions of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel or the minor prophets remind me of what a near death experiencer might report that they were shown about the future.

(Post #1 here on this page gives what Dannion Brinkley was shown would happen between the nations of Jordan and Israel):

    http://www.politicalforum.com/middl...-peace-deal-between-jordan-israel-coming.html

Near death experiencer shown peace deal between Jordan and Israel is coming.

Did you know that there is an Islamic prophecy that the Islamic desert regions would be turned green in the latter days?????

    .............

The writings of Paul are a very different type of literature than the recorded sayings and teachings of Rabbi Yeshua - Jesus. Cephas / Peter was correct when he stated that it was very easy to misunderstand Paul.

If you actually have the open mind you claim, you will have to admit man's concept of God has changed at least as much as science. Multiple Gods to a trinity. Olt testament God to the New Testament God. Never mind the fact that there are currently many different versions of God adopted by different religions.

Science accepts and embraces change and freely admits that it is a learning/discovery process to understand the world. If Religion was honest it would also admit it changes to keep in step with public opinion.

Religion does not change with pubic opinion. It tries to control public opinion and stifle independent thinking.

You may be more than fifty percent accurate in this analysis Tram Law…….. but…….. to at least some degree religion can be altered as an influential segment of the people who belong to a religion become more well informed.

Sometimes……. even one influential disciple…… can alter the world political formula. Ancient King Cyrus of Persia was influenced by the teachings of Zoraster.

It is moronic crap, to actually deny alternate states of consciousness, which the metaphor 'being filled by the holy spirit' could be used.

I don't buy into organized religion, of any kind. But neither do I buy into you maintaining something as fact, with such great certainty, when you are in no position to do that. It's like those that say they know god exists, or that they know god does not exist. Fact is, they actually don't know either. So take a step down off of your self created high ground. And you talk of cerebral maturity? Sir you are hardly any more mature than they are, for you are guilty of the same errors.

So enough of this nonsense. Thinking seriously of the phrase, " I do not actually KNOW' is the beginning of actual intelligence. And genuine honesty. We should prefer honest idiots over educated liars.

I haven't proof that is a Tooth Fairy but barring evidence am comfortable saying its a fiction. If you aren't sure then why bother believing something without some appropriate evidence I'm not an expert in science but if the Astronomers say there are Black Holes and have images and the like I can say they more likely than not likely exist as a layman but you Deists say there is a Deity and its God with Christ in there then the burden is on YOU to demonstrate this at the same level over all other options.

What also makes you think a Deity gives a crap about you or me, its possible it doesn't provide souls and we just die and that's it, and sits there doing more important things as a hypothetical question or its it likes Atheists and will reward sincere belief in that over blind faith a "Child's way to think" as I see it?

    No big deal.

I can understand why you and some others might think I am....as you put it..." I thought he was just a hyper egocentric being."...end quote One Mind.

Thing is my metabolic rate runs about 3 times faster than an average person as I need about 5000 to 6000 calories daily just to prevent myself from losing weight.

And I do have a Big Ego....no doubt about it.

But both are a necessity for what it is I and my Team do.

No apology is necessary but thank you anyways and it is most kind of you to state this.

As a friend of Alpha, I must agree with him, that he has a huge ego, lol... But as I also expressed to him, I used to think the same about Donald Trump, until I saw he earned and deserved every bit of that ego!
    I'm a fan!

Religion IS public opinion. I have a story where the gods of the ancients are real. That's something of a cliché but I'm trying to soften it by saying how they explain why they're no longer effective. "Nothing has changed but you can now do all that we used to be able to," says one, "You never stopped believing in us, You started to believe in yourselves"

Religion and Science don't contradict because they are one and the same, folds in the same garment, romance variations on an identical stone. The world bedevils and bedizens us, nourishing us as a mother one minute and killing us in callous indifference the next. We are trapped in it's mystery and only Science or Religion can turn our prison into a palace

    LOL!!

    Thanks!

The FIRST thing I am going to do when I get back to Civilization is soak in a HOT TUB for half a day just to get the damn sand out of every crevice of my body!!

    This stuff is UNREAL!!

It reminds me of the Powdered Coral that is in the sand in the Yucatan Beaches as it STICKS TO YOUR BODY EVERYWHERE!!

You can soap up 10 times and still not get it all off and out of areas of your body!!

Plus it get's into EVERYTHING and Pup and the Guy's have been SWEARING LIKE TRUCKER'S FOR TWO DAY'S CLEANING OUR GEAR.....as we can't pack the gear until this stuff is cleaned out and off of it!!

Man!! I HATE this part of the world!!

Even something like a pair of Oakley Sunglasses becomes a 2 hour project just to get the super fine powder like grit out of the sunglasses!!

I won't even bring my clothing I wear here back as I dump it before I get on the plane as the first time I brought my clothing home even after washing it the damn sand was al over the place in my home!!

Nice try but unresponsive to issue of change in religion. And theoretical models that predict global warming are constantly being changed as data evolves.

Very nicely poetic but science and religion could not be more different. One is fact based and one is faith based.

I think it's more embarrassing to deny inerrancy. It makes you seem a complete flake, who's simply paying lip service to the idea of Christianity in the vain hope of surviving death.

and that's acceptable to you? given this god can create universes on a whim, justifying his failure to write just one little book in comprehensible fashion (and I'm sure you will ... no doubt along the lines of 'free will') seems a reach, and then some.

so how many animal species mate for life, exactly?

and which variety of humans mate for life, exactly? certainly not American Christians (see divorce stats).

don't you hate it when reality doesn't comport with the lies you've been sold.
