He has a lot of proclamations, but he never makes any actual arguments.

Google it. You didn't bother with citations of your claims. You just assumed people that people would take your prejudice claims as gospel. So after you provide citations, I will do the same.

I have been to those areas and other in Appalachia that indeed are poor with many folks on welfare. Not much violence, never felt afraid. Damned sure can't say the same for New Orleans, South Dallas or Huston's 9th ward.

What specific point did you need statistics on?

And I just googled Eastern Kentucky being the most dangerous place in the whole country, I found nothing that supports that conclusion. I did, however, find the top 5 most dangerous cities. Guess what they all have in common?

    1) Detroit
    2) St Louis
    3) Oakland
    4) Memphis
    5) Birmingham

That's a really nasty fact that the left has a difficult time explaining away. Poor whites in Appalachia commit far less murder and other violent crime compared to blacks in Democrat run cities across the country.

By it very nature this thread can be nothing more then a flame bait thread.

To even suggest that fourth and fifth generation or more americans due to their skin color alone should consider leaving the country is insulting to the limit.

Hell there are black families that can trace their ancestry to men who fought on the side of the colonies against England.

An that is not even considering that our DNA is all mixed up and getting more mixed up by the year beginning with Jefferson.

This kind of nonsense should had firmly disappear at the end of the 1950s and surely by the end of the administration of Obama.

Lord Trump running for President seem to have given the low IO racists a license to come out of the closet at least on this thread and the claim is that this thread was not design to be flame bait!!!!!!!

Colin Kaepernick and his ilk have said that the US is a country that oppresses blacks. They are offended by the national anthem, the US flag, etc. Clearly they don't like this country all that much. Don't you think they'd be happier living elsewhere?

You must be very young to believe that.

    colored-only11.jpg

I notice you did not like learning that blacks and whites each had water fountains. Surely you can tell they had toilets too.

That said, to express rage, you bring up eastern Kentucky but bring no proof.

    I handed you photo proof.

At the moment, i find nobody defending what blacks endured. Nor do I find them saying Jim crow laws were outstanding.

You do not discuss race with Democrats.

They get all snarky and make up stories so they feel better that they let down blacks.

YES, I blame democrats for making promises then not keeping them.

There are a couple of other "separatist" groups that are moving around already. Evangelicals are going to South Carolina, LIbertarians are going to New Hampshire, and survivalists are moving to the "American Redoubt" states. But I don't believe there is any sort of equivalent movement for blacks. I think the closest was the DC statehood thing, but that didn't require anyone to actually move and now that DC has been gentrified, Blacks are no longer a majority of the District so that statehood movement seems to have fallen off of a cliff.

I've often thought that if Blacks really wanted to do something like that, like have a black dominated (politically) state, they would move to Maryland. It's already about 30% Black, so the amount of people needed to push the demographic balance to majority black is not that large. But you never hear black people wanting to do anything like that. It was a white guy who started this thread, not a black guy. Let's face it, Black people love us (and by us I mean white people) and want to be near by.

The amazing part is that for most of US history they was indeed oppressed and yet time after time they was willing to fight for this nation.

Yeah, I was gonna suggest a one way ticket to Liberia for anyone wishing to give up their U.S. citizenship. I bet there wouldn't be a whole lot of takers...

I personally know people who lived through terrible racially based persecution. The stuff of nightmares in fact. Not 'something awful which happened to my ancestors'. STILL, they've managed to avoid being crippled it. They realised that succumbing to self-pity would only destroy the remainder of lives already damaged, and no one was going to fix things but them. And by fix, I mean they realised they couldn't fix the world, they could only fix themselves - and prove the racist bustards wrong about 'their kind' into the bargain.

It's not a difficult thing to realise, but it's a difficult thing to live. It takes a huge will to succeed despite very low odds. It takes commitment and determination. It takes spine. The point is, if people who actually lived through horrors that some only know about via history, and STILL end up at the business end of a stethoscope, or running a large business, or owning half your neighbourhood ... then the only thing stopping those who remain 'victims' is themselves.

It depends on the year. And in those counties, it is the county stats that matter, as the cities tend to have very small populations and aren't really even cities.

Also, with small populations, many years of data are more meaningful. So the only decade where they had stats was sadly the 1980s — 1980 through 1989:

    Baltimore Sun

Kentucky homicide rates outdo those of major cities
June 16, 1991|By Frank Langfitt | Frank Langfitt,Knight-Ridder News Service
HYDEN, Ky. -- People wave when they pass each other along the mountain roads of Leslie County. Cars usually stop in front of the courthouse in Hyden to let people cross the street.

Folks here are among the friendliest and most courteous around. And like many in Eastern Kentucky, they think they act a little more civilized than people in big cities.

They are right -- except when it comes to killing one another.

From 1980 to 1989, Leslie had a per-capita homicide rate higher than that of New York City, Chicago or Los Angeles.

A review by the Lexington Herald-Leader found that Leslie and nine neighboring Appalachian counties in southeastern Kentucky had higher homicide rates than many major U.S. cities.

    * Wolfe and Perry had homicide rates of 24.2 and 21.6 for every 100,000 people, higher than Philadelphia, Boston or San Francisco.

    * Clay, Breathitt and Owsley had rates ranging from 21.1 to 18.6 for every 100,000, higher than Seattle or Nashville.

    * And Harlan, Estill, Knox and Lee had rates of at least 15 for every 100,000, twice the state average and greater than Columbus, Ohio; Phoenix or San Diego.

Leslie's homicide rate, 28 for every 100,000, was the highest in Kentucky. It was also more than three and four times that of the state's two most urban counties, Jefferson and Fayette.
