Should Blacks be paid "reparations" today because of slavery in the United States?

They have been taught from birth that capitalism and owning stock is a white racist plot.

Why do you care about my reasons for supporting reparations? I do. I would love to see them try and implement such a policy and I would love to see the reaction to it.

Personally I do not think democrats who are calling for reparations have any real intention of trying to provide them. It is political grandstanding.

I watched Detroit go from a predominate white city to a predominate black city. As more blacks integrated white neighborhoods the whites would sell there houses at bargain basement prices and move away. Why did they do that? There was coexistence for a little while but when the majority changed the exiting accelerated. What were the main points of contention? The youth. It wasn't long before the young were fighting each other, conflicts over inter-racial dating, vandalism, and a breakdown of civility. When the riots came, and businessmen watched their stores go up in flames, they never rebuilt. The factories left the city. The tax base shrank and finally bankruptcy. It didn't help when the blacks elected black mayors and just like their predecessors they too were crooks. The Unions laid waste to the pension funds and most residence took a hair cut on their retirement checks. The street lights went out and the infrastructure went to hell.

My point is just like the school systems that constantly fail our children, even though we keep pumping money into their coffers year after year and the results are the same; why? It is a big frustration for corporations to have to retrain employees in basic skills like reading and math. Most every kid that goes to college has to take a course in one of the basic skills they were suppose to learn in high school. Why is it the responsibility of business and the taxpayer to pay twice?

One of the sad truths, that no one wants to talk about, is that a good majority of their employees are overpaid now. This is really true with the youth who are starting out. It is just not black and brown that have no skills it also is many whites. The work ethics are deplorable. Many have no pride in their work. I always like the ones who get hired and one of the first questions they ask " When do I get a raise". or " I can't work week-ends or nights". It is just not the establishment that needs to make a commitment but also the recipient's who are receiving the dole.

If a person is so gullible that he can be made to buy into a bullshit concept like "white guilt", then he'll certainly continue to be vulnerable to many other, ongoing manipulative scams that will "land on his runway", like an unending series of airplanes full of fraud-artists who want him to give them something....

And what, exactly, has the sidebar babble about 'who owns stock' got to do with how many Blacks are in prison versus Whites, or, slavery back in the 1800's...?

Is anybody seriously going to suggest that we should pay "reparations" to anybody on the basis of who gambles money in the stock market?!

And there is so much to do to dismantle Western Civilization, from children's books to Mathematics.

 

And who's fault is that. That's like saying the majority of blacks own expensive cars , gold chains and better clothes than whites. It's a matter of priorities. It's also a matter of learning and educating oneself on how markets work. Anyone can buy stocks without paying a broker fee. Not everyone can afford an expensive car. Whitey is more than likely to be in a pair of shorts, T-shirt and flip-flops. Mexicans like dungarees and a T- shirt. Blacks prefer for work-out clothes and a pull over. ( That's if you want to stereotype people). What is about white people you resent that they do with their money? If you say "nothing" then this case is closed. If not, then why would you care?

 

Eliminate math? Then how would liberals be able to give whitey a failing grade?

 

Only the slaves themselves deserve reparations. But that was a 150 years ago, so that is out of the question. Interestingly, President Lincoln made reparations by granting blacks a huge swath of hundreds of thousands of acres of land running from South Carolina thru Georgia and into Florida. They were apportioned forty tillable acres per family and a mule to work it. Not only that, they were granted their request to settle, farm and govern themselves and the land. And they set about right quick working the land and establishing self government. Sadly, about a year later, after Lincolns assassination, the next President, a Democrat, reversed Lincolns order, took back all the land and mules and returned the land to the former Confederate plantation land owners, and the mules back to the military. What a kick in the soul that must have been. To go from grievous slavery to exquisite freedom to the wondrousness of self governing land owners, and then startlingly to vagabond, all in one years time, would be a stretch of spirit that might kill a saint or cripple a prophet. Yet somehow they bore it still. It is eye watering to even contemplate. Nothing can fix any of that. It is nearly sacred on its own. And to attempt to do so would be nearer to blasphemy than justice. Black Americans today, best serve and honor their Forefathers by living rightly.

 

now I'm all worried that oprah won't be able to find anything to spend her reparations money on. won't someone think of how this effects her????

 

Our forefathers would be best served by giving us the reparations we are entitled to.

As an American, you are entitled to the same as the rest of us, freedom. And that you have. What anyone makes of that is up to the individual.
