That's a really dumb idea. Suppose some people are packing. The original shooter opens up. The packers draw their weapons and start firing. And if one the "good" guys did survive he would be charged with 50 assorted crimes.

You've never been to the range and had to keep reloading. It's a pain in the ass. It isn't necessarily about shooting people. It's about the convenience. Think of it like a bullet filled super big gulp. Yes, you can buy a lot of smaller gulps, but then you're going back and forth to the 7-11.

Well you want the government to regulate hollywood and censor their movies........ This is called big federal government... something conservatives are supposed to oppose! You are calling for a federal branch, FCC, to regulate a state that is almost 2000 miles away! To be fair, this was not your typical mass shooting situation. What is the standard human reaction to a tear gas grenade going off, followed by a hail of gunfire in a darkened movie theater anyway?

Also, this must also be entered into the equation. The movie theater was a Century 16. We have a Century 16 movie theater up here in Anchorage, and if all of these Century movie theaters have a standard floor plan, then they slope upward at a steep angle from the front of the theater toward the back, and in order to get to the exits, you must first walk down the stairs on each side of the rows of seats toward the movie screen at the front of the theater in order to gain access to the exits which are located at either side of the screen and below the seating areas at the very back of the room. Hence, the victims would have had to have approached the shooter first in order to get away from him and escape from the theater. Which is probably why there were almost 60 people wounded in the attack, with 12 fatalities.

 

No one knows what they would do in that situation. I would hope that even having a gun I'd try to help people out that needed help, then maybe pop a round or two in his ass to knock him down. But really, no one knows.

There 's over 310 million people in America. Just because a guy kills a dozen with a gun is no reason to deny 310 million people of any of their Constitutional rights. Do you really expect everyone's rights to be held hostage and eliminated because someone shoots dozens of people?

If a criminal wanted a gun all he has to do is either buy one from a cop or kill a cop and take his guns. Besides, if a person wanted some guns all he has to do is burglarize three of four random houses and he will get more than he can carry.

I find it highly irrational to believe stricter gun laws would prevent a psychopath from committing murder. Some people are just incapable of making certain logical deductions.

 

If I hit what I was aiming for with that one shot, why waste more. I learned in Arizona that you never ever waste ammo. Too many wild things there. That's why most people don't have cats there.

 

You have to practice before you can start "1 shot" items. How do you practice with one bullet?

 

I started shooting a .22 at nine yrs old, then at 12 my dad taught me to shoot a 30-30. After I learned that I was living hell on coyotes. We were one of the only families in Oracle that had pets.

 

And when you practiced, did you bring one round shoot the gun and then go home? Or did you shoot hundreds & hundreds of rounds so that when the time came, you would only need 1 shot?

 

Actually, we had censorship of violence and sex, when the federal gov't was tiny. How about this. How about we gut the federal gov't to 1915 size and keep the censorship of violence and sex. You in?
