Trump has devastated our State Dept, weakened our CIA, & converted our Dept of Justice from a politically neutral dept serving the law, into a personal law office devoted to the President personally. If you call that the "best thing to have happened to our governmental institutions in 30 years," I strongly disagree.
So you're one of those people who hates government in general. I disagree. Government is simply a human institution that is as good or bad as those who we all elect to go there & do the work. It can do bad things (as Trump has done), or it can do great things (as several Presidents & Congresses have done). Like any human institution, it is as good or bad as those working within it. To simply label it as unworthy of your respect generally seems to me shallow minded.
You misunderstand me whether or not it's on purpose. I approve of all those things you say he got wrong. The government is much better under Trump because he did those things you listed. By the way, the Department of Justice has never been apolitical. The AG is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the President.
Trump should not concede until the last ballot is counted, including all the mail-in ballots, and that could take about 4 years.
Yes, the AG is appointed by the President, but AGs have a history of keeping some distance between themselves & the President. They have prided themselves on remaining loyal to their oath to the Constitution, not the President. Trump never understood that separation or honored it.
