Smartie's 4th of July Bar & Grill #41

Wanna hear something funny? Well, perhaps not funny, but rather sad, depending upon ones perspective...


So, I (had) decided that over the coming weeks I wanted to dispose of many (if not all), of my household furnishings/things.

In a good faith effort, this past weekend I placed an ad in a local paper for a very nice/well maintained/perfectly functional gas range (free standing, stove top/oven) for anyone in need. Not for sale, but to be given for free, provided it was picked up.

After a couple calls, wanting me to describe it in minute detail and asking if there are additional items for free, I was asked if I would kindly deliver it as well.

*sigh*

Needless to say, the ad is removed, cell/voice mail is off, and I am again disappointed with people in general.

 

Morning y'all....working today and tomorrow, then off the rest of the week.

It's always special to open up facebook and the first post is from your youngest kid, exclaiming how "getting hit by a car doesn't hurt nearly as much as I always thought it would". He's fine, bumps and bruises, hit by a car while riding his bicycle last night. We have great bike trails around here, but a new light has been installed at one of the crossings and people aren't used to it, but still the guy ran a red light and hit my child. He's had this bike about three weeks, after his other one was stolen recently. Now, the new one isn't ridable.

Let's drink!

 

It's that sense of entitlement too many people have gotten used to. It really is amazing that anybody would request you deliver a free item to them, though.

I'ma whiney too. Weekend wasn't great. Wasn't terrible, just kind of blah.

Yeah, weekend was kind of there, but that was about it. Fine with me, but not so with other members of the household. I'm fine with doing nothing but reading. Again, not so with the other members...LOL Had sweet patootie, Elijah, Saturday. That's always a perk me up time. I told hubby, after I'd taken Elijah home and started picking up after him, it looks like Elijah comes over, has a party and goes back home...LOL Little toot.

 

Wonder why that is! How are you today? Other than board issues?

Awww, he is such a cutie, that I'm sure you don't mind the mess. Got big plans for the 4th, or are ya gonna relax?

It's supposed to rain here all day on the 4th so I think I shall stay in bed with a good book. Heh.

 

No plans, just hanging around the house. Keeping the water hose handy for all the dumbasses who ignore the burn ban, and fireworks ban. We have plenty of woods around our house, and all the woods around here are dry, dry right now. You could send some of that rain down our way. We need it really, really bad.

I hear ya! It's been hot and humid here, but also we have had lots of rain. I'm really grateful for that! Sorry about no fireworks for you though. Makes me sad.

 

I think there will be controlled fireworks shows. It's the yahoos that set them off for two weeks before and two weeks after, when the entire state is under a burn ban. They're the ones who cause the fires, for the most part.

John decided he didn't want to live anymore living was too much work. A man loaded him on the wagon to take him off to die and be buried. On the way another man stopped the wagon and asked what was wrong with John. He was told John was tired of living it was too much work. The man then said"If John is worried about food I can furnish him with some fish.". John raised up and asked, "Have they been cleaned?" The man replied, "No." John then said..."Drive on."
