Oh! My! Lord! I would croak for sure w/a temp like that.... at least I'd be a PUDDLE on the sidewalk. Can't handle extreme heat. I sweat harder than most people. Dr. said that's healthier than to not sweat much - well, I don't feel healthy when I'm drenched. Had a bro who was the same way. You must be one tough cookie, Smartie, to handle that Texas heat.......

 

You're on the right track, but what you need is someone to stand in back of you and plug your ears while you slowly drink the water and they'll go away. Sure cure. An aunt did that for me when I was around 12 and did that for family & friends ever since - always worked. Oh yeah, then you burp.......

The times when I was alone and got the hiccups, I'd fill up my mouth w/water as much as I could and plug my ears - so you can do it yourself...

BTW, drinking beer, milk or anything else doesn't work.....water.

 

I'm gonna pass that along to my hiccupping co-worker. he's about 6'5" finding somebody tall enough stand behind him to plug his ears is gonna be a job! will it work sitting down?

 

Ugh. Sorry to hear you've been going thru all that. When it rains, it pours, and we ain't just talking water.

Truthfully, I'm not out in the heat much unless there's a swimming pool involved. Otherwise it's go from the a/c house to the a/c office or a/c shops in the a/c car. Dallas is usually arid compared to Houston. But not after all this rain. It's gonna be a sauna this weekend!

IIRC, I think I have done it to a friend or 2 sitting down. It should b/c... trying to remember how it was explained to me and I was around 12, but something about reversing some thingamagiggy in side you that's causing the hiccups and plugging the ears does it w/water......does that make sense? No, but anyway, I've never seen it fail unless they're drinking beer, pop.......and your friend can do it himself b/c I have and it works.......let me know if it works for him.

 

Well, that's the way to live - air-conditioned. I have a.c, but still like to sit outside even when hot, so I spend my time in the shade and w/a breeze, I don't turn into a raging (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)......worse than usual.

 

I have a mist system on my patio so you can actually sit outside comfortably even when it's raging hot... if you don't mind getting a little wet. Walk out into the sun for about 30 sec and you're dry again. LOL We're easily entertained down here.

The difference is that I usually take naps on Tuesday. Oh well. We will have to improvise, I guess I will go for along walk on the beach and then take a nap.

In retirement, you have to manage leisure and it is sometimes confusing
