    Tomboy-girlies are normally athletes.

Those babes from the silver screen did not strike me as athletic.

Drama queens are not usually athletes.

Try Target -- they are not expensive and they have really good stuff.

If I can't find something at Target then I go to Macy's. Macy's is NOT cheap.

My sister's hubby (I refuse to own him and call him bro-in-law) loves watermelon and buys it a lot.

About the only time I get watermelon is over at their house. I never buy it myself.

For me summertime means more iced mixed drinks and less tequila shots.

This is peak season for melons. I usually buy one a week, cantaloupe & watermelon. Nothing better than an ice cold slice of melon on a hot day.

Well, maybe a salty dog. Gotta keep up that sodium, ya know?

Making me some homemade mariscos with tilapia with flour tortillas for lunch now.

No alcohol today though -- it's Sunday.

Sunday is my weekly detox day.

My wife forbids tilapia in the house. I used to get it for fish tacos until she read something and put the kibosh on it. Tonight it is grilled ahi with grilled pineapple salsa.

My sil who lives on the gulf coast forbids anybody in the family to eat tilapia. She says it rips off the true saltwater fish market even though its farmed and mostly tasteless. Always a big hit in Mexico, but used to be considered trash fish by the US. More so-called progress... weve risen to pay good money for trash. Lol

Saute tilapia in olive oil, lemon juice, and a scotch bonnet. Shovel it into taco shells with salsa on top then tell me if it's tasteless. ;-)

I read that Tilapia raised in China was fed pig manure. I don't allow Chinese Tilapia in our house either. But we do eat Alabama farmed catfish. We also eat wild caught catfish and bluegill. Redear sunfish is just too good.

Seems every good fish is now farmed.Like even Salmon.
I try to buy a few times a month Ruby Red Trout. If it's available
at my Grocer and looks good. It's $ 9.99 a lb.But well worth it.
Ya gotta know exactly how long and what temp to cook.
Depending on the size of the fish.

Not much this year. I did a little. I put up about 20 quarts of peas and beans in the freezer and put up about 14 pints of bread and butter pickles. Our garden wasn't anything to brag about so nothing interesting there. I wanted to put up some pepper relish and pepper jelly, don't know if that is going to happen.

Buying store bought fish is iffy if you don't know the person selling them. Avoid a fish market that smells fishy and has cloudy eyed fish in the display.

I just grilled the last of the red snapper I brought home from Galveston. Picked out a beautiful whole fish, but by the time it was filleted, not much there... 4 small fillets. Still, its so rich, doesn't take much. Love snapper, redfish and trout. Cant beat a mess of fresh caught crappie.

We had a very good garden this year. Our freezer is full. Broccoli, crowders, purple hull, green beans, okra, and sweet corn. I also put up a bunch of pickles and canned peas and corn. I just planted some baby limas..half a pound of seed.

Tilapia is what Jesus ate from the Sea Of Galilee.

It's a pretty good fish that can thrive anywhere.

It is like a carp version of cod.

    I like it.

It is perfect for fish tacos.

Crappie is a form of perch. As are bass.

These are like tilapia too but the North American version.

Snapper is a sea fish not freshwater. They are like cod only a bit thinner.

Trout is a fresh water variation of salmon. While salmon meat is red, trout is pink.

Somewhere several million years ago some salmon must have swum upstream and decided to stay in the fresh waters. So trout is half way between the ocean salmon red meat fish and the fresh water white meat fish.

When I make fish tacos or fish burritos I first pan sear them in butter then I add (green) salsa verde to it in the pan until the liquid boils off from the salsa. Then I set this aside and pan sear some flour tortilla shells in hot oil -- they taste better this way.

THEN I shovel the cooked fish into the shells. Yum !!

Going fishing in the morning. Bluegill is what we are after...but will take what we can get. The turbines will be off in the morning.
