I am not ready and probably won't be ready when it is the "night before Christmas". I am so not in the mood. Bah, humbug, and the Grinch look a little more reasonable. Not even Hallmark movies are working for me.. Just can't get in the mood. Play me some music..please nothing sad just happy.

I have two of those feeders they're great if you have a lot of squirrels around.

How many different kinds of birds are you getting?

I just set it up on Sunday afternoon. It may take them some time to find it. We have a lot of birds in the area, so I'm hoping not too long.

 

You did set out some food?

 

Problem is it is really hard to get tested in my area without a doctor's order or some official notification you have been directly exposed. It has been a problem throughout. The state has done drive thru testing a few times just because our testing numbers are laggards in comparison to the rest of the state.

 

I did. It can take awhile for them to figure it out.

 

Wow, I thought you could just go to a testing site and asked to be tested. Imagine that?

 

Im not even sure theres a plan! Everybody is prob waiting for ME to tell them what we're doing! Didnt celebrate last yr cuz I just got outta the hospital. Might not celebrate this year because ...

 

Once they do the squirrels will show up.

Depends on where you live. There are no covid dedicated testing sites in my area. You have to have an appointment at a pharmacy or such and you have to have a referral or meet their requirements to be tested. You can't just pop in because you are curious in these parts. In larger cities not in the middle of nowhere maybe things are different. IDK.

 

The thing is having a controlled environment that can be hard, and poinsettias might be the answer, for sure that would be a controlled environment.

I haven't put up a Christmas tree yet. I wanted to get a live tree this year,and the thought of haggling in a tree lot is not on my agenda. The tree in storage is not so bad after all..

 

If you want to go to a pharmacy I think you have to have an appointment but some spots you can just walk into. The only reason for getting tested is to protect others and take precautions so you would know when to isolate.

 

I bought this thing that is called Pest Defender and it worked till the GFI needed replacing. So far only one squirrel has come back since the GFI stopped working. I have two bird feeders that are squirrel proof and I am considering buying a couple more. I have several that aren't squirrel-proof about six in total.

 

A new fish for PC's collection

Telescopefish are small, deep-sea aulopiform fish. Though rarely captured, they are found in cold, deep tropical to subtropical waters worldwide.
The common name of these fish is related to their bizarre, tubular eyes.
They are slender, slightly tapered fish with large heads dominated by large, forward-pointing, telescoping eyes with large lenses. Their heads end in short, pointed snouts. The highly extensile mouth is lined with sharp, slightly recurved and depressible teeth and it extends well past the eyes.

I kept chickens in a tubular steel frame covered in chicken wire. I would throw out feed to the chickens. The next morning I would have several redbirds trapped. They could get in but not out. We would have to chase them out. Coulda had redbird pets.... but no.

I have looked up the local sites. Appointments, referrals, or questionnaires showing that you have covid symptoms or some combination thereof required at all of them.
