An elite Massachusetts liberal arts college has quietly conceded that there was no truth to allegations of racism made by one of their students that 'ruined the lives' of numerous campus workers.

Oumou Kanoute was in the canteen at Smith College on July 31, 2018 when she claimed she was profiled for 'eating while black' after a security guard asked her what she was doing.

Kanoute, a psychology undergraduate student, posted video of the incident on social media and claimed that she was the victim of racism.

However, an independent law firm investigating the incident found that same year that there was no evidence of wrongdoing and cleared all those involved. The case has come to light again after an employee resigned from the school on Friday, citing a 'racially hostile environment.'

 

Not shocking. Very predictable even. There is power given to idiots allowing them to claim racism over anything. And they abuse it.

racism is a very small issue for everyone. What little exists is overwhelmingly being directed at white people, not coming from them.

I have to agree, I have been stopped and asked by cops asked what I was doing in places before, more than once, and I am white, just explained and the end of it

now has this escalated, then I would say there was an issue

need more than just this to go on... as sounds like so far the cops handled it fine, the women handled it fine, so it was all good

 

She was in a closed lounge and was allowed to stay there. Because of her black privilege, unprivileged people lost their job and worse. Good for her. Way to stick it to the working man. No libs whining because a rich brat got some janitor fired? Awesome.

I do not believe that the good people that make up the Rank and File of the Left have been aware of how bad these folks have become. I believe that they find this even more shocking that we do, and I hope they will do something effective about it, and quickly.

The area she was in was closed.

No one called anyone on her for being black only for eating in a place she was not permiitted and she was not harrassed in any way.

This is just another proven fake hate crime.

There are more fraudulent claims of hate crimes than real hate crimes.

 

I heard about this 2018 incident just the other day, as I watch Tucker too. She was called out because she was eating in an area that was off limits. I think off limits to EVERYONE, not just to her. Apparently all the diversity people jumped on and it ruined some low-level employees' lives.

I disagree. I think the "good people that make up the Rank and File of the Left" are perfectly fine with this kind of abuse. They seem to only be shocked when people on the right bring it up.

Eating in a building that is closed and not in the designated employee eating area. She was making her own rules, what did she expect to happen?

 

I do not believe that the mainstream rank and file Left had any intention of creating a system where a girl with a bad attitude and big mouth could get a janitor fired for following the rules, and smear him so badly that her lies followed him to future job interviews.

It's simply hard to believe that this is climate on today's campus. I have trouble believing it, and I can't fault others for having difficulty believing difficult to believe things.

So, I do not believe that the discussion here is whether or not this is fair, it clearly is unjust, rather, the discussion with our fair minded friends on the Left is whether or not this actually occurring. I do not believe there is mainstream support for something this unjust on either the Right or the Left.

 

I don't know. I'll keep an open mind and try to listen honestly to both sides. The leadership and folks with national microphones, absolutely, but the folks on the Left that I know personally? They do not think these things are really happening, they think our claims that they are, are exaggerated, and they would never support such unfairness.

Obviously it's not a representative sample that I know personally, but, going forward I'm going to listen carefully to what they are arguing:

i) That it's occurring and they are fine with it, or,
ii) That they do not believe it is occuring, but rather than my claims are exaggerated.

A person arguing ii) is not necessarily a person that subscribes to i).

That's all, and for me personally, my commitment is to listen more carefully and fairly to the counter argument.
