This is not 100 years ago.

We needed unskilled labor then to man our factories.

But the factories have moved to China now and we have no need for this new wave of immigrants.

Your question doesn't make any sense. Latinos, blacks, and women make up the majority of the US population. They ARE America. You're asking America how they feel about themselves. Not sure if that is what you intended or whether your mind is just stuck in an old way of thinking.

Everyone in this country is immigrants. It's not up to US, whoever that is supposed to be, to say there is no need for the current American Profile.

Actually what i was trying to say was how does that demographic, along with the white demographic feel. I mean this has never happened before. It's interesting.

Minorities are Americans. Great to know you didn't feel they are or think they are.

Most migrant labor now (legal or illegal) serves our agricultural needs. They also do a lot of construction work and various low paying service jobs that most Americans reject.

I'd argue we still need them like before.

Granted, I'd like to reform our visa system so they'll actually pay taxes.

I'm not sure I buy that. When you can't find a job, you thank God for the Democrats.

I think they just over-reached by thinking they had some sort of critical mass thing on their side. Big mistake.

    The percentages in 2008 were:

    Whites 75%
    Blacks 12.2%
    Latino 8.4%
    Other 4.5%

    The percentages in 2012 were:

    Whites 72%
    Blacks 13%
    Latino 10%
    Other 5%

The percentages for Blacks, Latino, and Other were only larger because almost 7 million whites that voted in 2008 did not vote this time. No one knows why yet. But the demographics haven't changed.....at least this election doesn't prove it.

These groups seem passionate and when they vote look at the issues and decide who to vote for in an informed manner, its good to see. Common people are using voting power to get what they want its about time IMHO and the Republicans better accept that or fail again when elections come around.

You need to learn the difference between correlation and causation.

America's decline has nothing to do with women and minorities earning a place in the table, it has to do with market forces at home and abroad. Globalization, the rise of China and "the rest," outsourcing and larger/cheaper labor pools elsewhere, etc.

But go ahead and blame us for your economic troubles. I suggest taking the advice of conservatives and "pull yourself up by your bootstraps."

Continue to delude yourself. Convince yourself that the return of white male hegemony is right around the corner. Ignore the fact that the country is changing. And observe carefully as the GOP sinks into oblivion.

    Says you.

But the fact is that as women and minorities take their place at the table they have to get more of the blame for our failures.

America was doing OK when white males were running the show and now we are in decline under minorities.

I think this is because single women on the pill and minorities from less advanced societies embrace socialism more than white American-born males and that policy is making America less competitive than before.

The re-election of a do-nothing president proves the fact that there is already a race war in place. The blacks and latinos vote for anyone who will resist white control and the white fools will follow along thinking they are doing a good thing. This race war will end the same way it did in Australia with an ethnic cleansing that will horrify the world. Within four years, America will be a totally different place and nothing will stop it.

that is where you and the rest of the GOP is missing the point. America /= just "white males". America = EVERY American citizen. Just because "white males" were doing ok, does not mean "EVERYONE" was doing ok.

Don't waste your breath. The founding fathers warned us about mass immigration. Not saying I'm opposed to it, but you just need to educate yourself. Some quotes:

“Are there no inconveniences to be thrown into the scale against the advantage expected by a multiplication of numbers by the importation of foreigners?” Jefferson

“Suppose 20 millions of republican Americans thrown all of a sudden into France, what would be the condition of that kingdom? If it would be more turbulent, less happy, less strong, we may believe that the addition of half a million of foreigners to our present numbers would produce a similar effect here.” Jefferson

“Prudence requires us to trace the history further and ask what has become of the nations of savages who exercised this policy, and who now occupies the territory which they then inhabited? Perhaps a lesson is here taught which ought not to be despised.” Hamilton

“The policy or advantage of its taking place in a body (I mean the settling of them in a body) may be much questioned; for by so doing, they retain the language, habits, and principles (good or bad) which they bring with them.” Washington

However, in addition, Rufus King talked about the certificates from “the religious societies to which they belonged” that testified to their good character.

Nonsense. The declining influence of racists, bigots and misogynists in America is a great thing to see.
If it bothers you, it's only because you are on the wrong side of history.
