According to the left, those are "peaceful protests" It's like they think they can tack "peaceful" on to anything and that makes it ok. Peaceful looters, peaceful fires, peaceful vandalism, what next, peaceful murder

Plus, now the latest leftie stupidity I heard being mocked on the radio this morning is that they've adopted the defense that we shouldn't give any of these scumbags prison time because prison is too expensive. You can't make this sh*t up...... I guess that's what they're parroting now  No prison, it's too expensive.

    That meme is PERFECT :roflol:

Utah has the best economic outlook going forward of any state in the union.

They can't let Pierre Delecto and his band of criminals ruin that.

The problem with peaceful demonstrations invaded by perps is the police having difficulty determining just who is causing problems.
One approach is to have demonstrators sit down where they are.

If they tell them to disperse and they don't the become part of the riot. Gas them when it is declared a riot and arrest the ones that don't leave. It's not rocket surgery. When it turns into a riot I don't have ANY sympathy for the people that participate in the event that has turned into a riot or looting. Bean bags for everyone.

Stupidity isn't illegal. If it was we wouldn't have Biden to beat on. It's not hard to shine when standing next to a turd.

    Ya, I heard you.
If you see repeated rioting and looting going on every night there is a "Peaceful Protest" and you still decide to participate, you are as guilty as the idiot throwing the bottle of uring at the cops. Arrest their ass and lock them up.

I take it you don't favor locking up peaceful protesters who aren't breaking the law.

Gas people, then tell them to leave? Hohhhh-Kayyyyy....
As long as peaceful demonstrators have a chance to disperse before police use gas, beanbags, and billy clubs, I can agree.

You're an owner of your state university system. Why are you charging so much for tuition? Why are state representatives and state senators in both parties not holding tuition down? In most states, you're charging young people six figures for an undergrad degree.

Can I put you down as someone opposed to high tuition?

I paid $60 per semester at Long Beach State in January 1968. That would be $455.90 in July 2020 (CPI Inflation Calculator). How about $1000 a year tuition so they get a deal as good as the one we got?

A lot of the battles with police come after peaceful protests have finished. The only people "protesting" at that point are people wanting to engage police.

People who riot, loot, burn buildings, and damage property should be arrested and charged.

You can be peaceful and disruptive--sit-ins, blocking traffic, etc. Now, you might be arrested, but there is no violence. That sort of behavior should not be met with violent police action.

A life sentence for relatively minor political violence and vandalism would be very excessive and inappropriate.
Would make slightly more sense if imposed on a US Senator caught inciting riots.

What do you think would happen if those "protesters" most of whom don't even know why they are there, stayed home for a couple of weeks?
It might very well save some city from $65 million dollars in damage.
    Sound like a good idea?

Are you saying the people looting don't know "why they are there?" I think they know exactly why.
They aren't going to stay home for a couple of weeks.

They should be carted off to jail.
