Then you clearly ain't looking because most people don't think you should be judged by the color of your skin and that ain't a bad thing. You are seeing racism where it doesn't exist and giving Joe a pass for his outspoken racism.

If Republicans can mandate evangelical extremism for their SCOTUS picks then they don’t really have a right to criticize

Depends on the black woman and white man and their individual experiences. Johnson grew up in an upper middle class family with highly successful parents and attended prestigious schools, what world experiences are you talking about that are different from white people or white men that makes her more qualified?

Affirmative action is racist. Denying that would be racist.

KBJ isn't being judged by the color of her skin, unless boneheads of the right in the Senate are going to bring this up..

The people who claim others see racism where it doesn't exist are likely the worst racists on the planet...

Not. A. Republican. For. ****'s. Sake.

So don't but Reagan me, don't but Trump me, and shut your yap about what Republicans can criticize or not when you're talking to me because I ain't one.

    I'll criticize whatever the **** I'd like, I'm a libertarian.

I never said you were. Most libertarians I have met are just Republicans that are embarrassed to say they are Republican but I will take you for your word.

Actually those that see racism where it doesn't exist tend to be the worst racists.

Then, again: Don't tell me what republicans can or can't complain of because I ain't one.

Not what I'd said, but you do you boo boo.

    "I'll criticize whatever the **** I'd like, I'm a libertarian."
^ what I actually said. As in your whataboutism didn't apply to me so I was free to criticize.

It's a shame this thread has been about the nomination process, not about the career of the obscure man.
His most enduring legacy I think will be the time there were 2 cases about 10 commandments monuments. He voted to keep the one Cecile B. deMille sponsored but remove the one put up by Christians.

Someone asked about her experiences as a black woman.
She had to put up with a lot of people calling her a ------ and claiming free speech.
She might have been interested in some young black men who got shot to death because the second amendment allows it.
She might know some people who got arrested and the cops told them that the Miranda rights don't kick in until you get to court.
As the daughter of 2 black parents who went to segregated schools and black colleges she is especially thankful for the Brown versus the Board of Education decision which let her learn as much as the white kids.
She will now, for life as probably before, face the stigma of everyone believing she got her job only through affirmative action.

Honestly I’m just glad to see the democrats supporting policy that says we can discriminate based upon race. 2024 and beyond is gonna fun.

Why? Because y’all are going to do what y’all have already been doing?

I've been watching the Little Rascals features in chronological order (one per day). Yesterday a 1930 feature called Pups is Pups came up. It's in the National Film Registry and belongs there. Among other things: Farina responds to an ad: wanted colored boys 7 to 10 to work as pages.
Biden sent out a similar memo 16 months ago.

Another Disturbing Detail About Biden’s SCOTUS Pick Emerges. “We did talk … about her representation of Guantánamo Bay detainees. I expressed some concern about this.”

    It should raise concerns:

Last month, we learned that in 1996, Jackson wrote a “Note” for the Harvard Law Review arguing that convicted sex offenders were treated “unfairly” in the courts.

"Did this not come up in her background check?"

"Another concerning detail has come to light: her past work representing terrorists detained at Guantánamo Bay prison."

None of this bothers me and I’m sure most would agree.

People charged with sex crimes deserve fair trials.

Suspected terrorists held in Guantanamo are entitled to representation.

I’m more concerned with her pro-Chevron views.

The Supreme Court said those detainees deserve a trial like any other suspect. The trials should have been over 12 years ago.

I saw part of the hearings today. She had no idea how many detainees have returned to Guantanamo. One guy said 31%. Another said 5%.
My question is: were any acquitted?
