The only difference was that Republicans controlled the HR at that time. They had already held several hearings on that matter but when they held the last one they wanted Hillary to testify. I don’t even think they had to subpoena her. They requested her presence and she gladly came to testify and made them look like the obviously political jackals they were for 10 straight hours. She kept her cool while several of the GOP hacks screamed with veins popping out of their heads. Leader and total scumbag sellout McCarthy admitted that ALL of these hearings were held expressly to “bring her numbers down” before the 2016 election.

Now the house is controlled by Democrats and they are conducting hearings on the vile attempt by Trump and his goons to overturn certified election results. Pretending that what aTrump, members of the DOJ, his screwball lawyers pulled after he got beat is just business as usual and that no congressional action is warranted is laughable. The stuff that is coming out as a result of this legal and Constitutional investigation is outrageous. I am glad that our HR is doing their job and getting to the bottom of what, who and when this violent attack on our democracy was hatched. I look forward to seeing and hearing from all who witnessed or were involved in that shameful display.

Both Manafort and Flynn obviously obstructed justice on Trump’s behalf in exchange for pardons. Get a grip!

Any Republican who dares to oppose Trump is demonized by Trumpist Republicans. McCain, Romney, Kasich, Cheney, Mueller, Rosenstein....all lifelong Republicans, two of them nominated to run for President are demonized by the Hitlerl like Trump and his supporters. Have you noticed that too?

McCain is dead, Romney whom I voted for is in error. Trump did not deserve what Romney did to him. Trump has never operated as those hating him do. He really was a good president.
Now all the tawdry claims made by his enemies, even though some are true, it was not when he was president nor was he doing any of that as president. He worked for us at no cost. Biden is costing us a hell of a lot.

Have you noticed how Obama attacked Trump using the intelligence agents under his command on January 6 of 2017? Even ahead of his swearing in Obama sprung the trap to create a coup. And the Democrats worked on it from when Nancy proclaimed she would make it happen.

Earlier Nancy claimed she did not want him impeached.

Hillary sure did not sound happy she was called up on the carpet. She got pissed off.
Eric Holder was cited for Contempt of Congress and how did that work out for him?

Eric Holder was held in contempt by a huge vote by the congress.

Guess what the Judge did about it? Nothing.

The House has voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress over his failure to turn over documents related to the Fast and Furious scandal, the first time Congress has taken such a dramatic move against a sitting Cabinet official.

The vote was 255-67, with 17 Democrats voting in support of a criminal contempt resolution, which authorizes Republicans leaders to seek criminal charges against Holder. This Democratic support came despite a round of behind-the-scenes lobbying by senior White House and Justice officials - as well as pressure from party leaders - to support Holder.

Judge declines to hold Holder in contempt
    By JOSH GERSTEIN

    10/06/2014 03:04 PM EDT

A federal judge has declined a House committee's bid to have Attorney General Eric Holder held in contempt of court — and perhaps even jailed — for failing to turn over documents related to the Justice Department' s response to Operation Fast and Furious.

This is another dog and pony show put on by democrats.

Here is how one of your pals talks about this issue. ""Lets hope and pray they hang the ass of the scoff law Bannon and any others who ignore subpoenas. Let his ass rot in jail.""""

You folks know the talking points by heart but never the details. Holder provided hours of testimony and thousands of documents regarding the F&F investigation until it became apparent it was just a politically inspired cudgel congressional Repubs were using against Obama.

Justice's Inspector General: No Evidence Holder Knew Of Failed Gun-Walking Sting
    https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo...or-general-to-release-fast-and-furious-report

Not really. In early 2011, the Justice Department wrote in a letter to Congress that no guns had been intentionally allowed to "walk," which it says was based on statements from ATF officials. That letter was retracted when it became clear that it was wrong. There's now a consensus that the operation was botched, but two questions remain. First, who approved it -- was Fast and Furious the work of a rogue ATF, or did Attorney General Eric Holder (or perhaps even President Obama) know of or approve it? Second, has there been an attempt to mislead Congress about the operation through a cover-up? On the first question, the department insists that only the ATF's Phoenix office approved the sting. At some point, however, the U.S. Attorney in Phoenix became aware, as did the acting director of the ATF. Both were forced to resign in August 2011 after Issa uncovered emails showing they'd been briefed. Justice says it's not trying to cover anything up, noting that it has turned over 7,600 documents and that Holder has testified before Congress nine times about Fast and Furious.

Hillary appeared voluntarily then schooled the GOP imbeciles. Holder was not charged with anything. It worked out fine. He refused to turn over information that could have gotten undercover drug agents and informants and their families killed by cartel members.

I'm fully aware of what you support. I asked how you would write such a law as it is an impossible task in my view.

The problem, which affirms my proposition, is that there was no vile attempts by Trump or his supporters to overturn the election. That is simply a foil to rationalize the committee's "Hey, here's another way we might get our hated enemy."

I never claimed the Republicans didn't try to make hay out of the Benghazi hearings, but that wasn't the issue.

A Bill limiting pardon power could easily be crafted. Especially where it concerns pardons of personal friends and associates of a President or Governor. It’s not rocket science.

What is obvious to you and $1 will get you a soda in most machines. My point was, contrary to your claims, none of the above were convicted or even charged with obstruction of justice. Earth to Mars!

Fines are not going to get Bannon to testify. He'll just fundraise/grift again from the Trump supporters. Steve won't do well in jail, that's the carrot that will lead that donkey.

So you do not believe that the assault on the Capitol was an attempt to overturn the certified election results? Are you aware of the testimony regarding Trump pressuring Pence to refuse to count EC votes from several states? No foil at all. Trumps supporters were screaming to hang Mike Pence. Come on Rod, don’t keep being so obtuse. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I'm just asking what words you would use to get beyond "The President .................. shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States." That ends in a period with no ifs or buts. I completely understand if you cannot come up with the words; after all it ain't rocket science.

No, I do not, because it wasn't. This is a straight forward answer; nothing obtuse in the least about it. Did Trump ask Pence to round up a bunch of thugs and rise hell? No, Did Trump tell his supporters to "peaceably" demonstrate? Yes. Why were the thousands of actual Trump supporters singing, peaceably showing poster boards signs, taking selfies and videos, and mostly watching what was going on around the Capitol? Why did Trump a couple of days before warn the Capitol Police and the House leaders of intel the FBI got about potential violence being planned and offer National Guard help (which was refused by Pelosi and gang)? Hummmmm???

It just looked bad on the surface so the House, consisting of political thugs but not stupid, jumped right in with some more **** they found that might stick and they might be able to use.
