Sunny Hostin, one of the hosts on, 'the View' believes she should still get reparations after it was revealed on the PBS documentary show, 'Finding Your Roots,' that some of her ancestors were slave holders and were likely involved in the Slave Trade.

I would be happy if we gave them good schools and safe neighborhoods and decent jobs. Or heaven forbid, how about a seat at the table in governance? Or maybe some national standards for policing? Gun control would help too...

 

That's curious. How are you preventing them from having "a seat at the table in governance?"

 

A couple of points on this:

I don't understand how she views Puerto Rican ancestry as some sort of slavery escape hatch. Puerto Ricans are descended from the original conquistadors. Of course they were involved in the Slave Trade or slave ownership.

Likely almost all black Americans are also descended from slave owners; more so than white Americans.

She is probably one of the people that repartitions should come from. Glad she self identified.

 

Sounds like she is owed reparations from herself.

How long before the people suffering from emotional distress from finding out they have slaveowning ancestors demand reparations for the emotional damage caused by finding out their ancestors owned slaves?

 

There have already been trillions in reparations handed out; giving the con artists more will do no good at all. They also already got decent schools, nice neighborhoods, and decent jobs. They pissed on those, too. Give them $300 bucks and a one way ticket to Africa, preferably The Sudan and Somalia. Those few who took advantage of what was given and worked at education and family values are doing just fine.

I also believe white males today should not be responsible for what other white males did, hundreds of your ago, often times in places many of them have never even been.

12.6% of the population are African American meanwhile 22% of the supreme court justices on the supreme court are African American.

Of course, there has never been an African American who was president of the United States.

 

It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out how slaves got injected with white DNA. They could not say no.

 

It also doesn't take rocket science to figure out a lot of women would have agreed to sex willingly with 'the boss' if they had something to gain by it.

In other news, many free black women in New Orleans and other cities and states were kept mistresses of wealthy white men. Many free blacks owned slaves, and blacks freed during the American Revolution immigrated to Liberia, and, drum roll, please, set themselves up as slave owning plantation owners. No pity parties needed for stuff from hundreds of years ago, especially for black racists.

 

Ooh, I hope your exercise in blaming the victim and rationalizing made your whiteness feel better. Those New Orleans prostitutes must have worked overtime and, drum roll, what does Blacks owning slaves have to do with the subject?
At Abolition 13% of the US population were freed slaves (Blacks today make up about that). Your examples are tiny outliers in how white DNA got into the Black population today.

I actually don't know for Puerto Rico. It's definitely not the case in Sunny's case.

 

I wonder how the accounting would work out.

Sunny Hostin is 7% indigenous Puerto Rican and the rest Caucasian, at least one of which who owned a slave and others who were likely involved in the slave trade.

So, I guess, she is due 7% of reparations and 93% of her owes reparations.
