And that was with all hands on deck, and people in lock down so the spread of the virus was being drastically halted.... unlike a normal flu season. That should hint anybody with half a brain that if we would ignore it all, that it would have been a heck of a lot worse. Mate! Years ago they tied vaccinations to Centrelink payments and guess what was the outcome? 90% vaccination among those relying on those payments. It is a UHC system here - which means my taxes pay for healthcare - why should I pay for someone to be an arse about vaccination during a pandemic?

To argue against forced vaccination, they typically allude to privacy in the same way that Roe v Wade did. Their body, their choice. People ethically ought to be free to make bad medical decisions for themselves. But their position is incorrect because all rights must be weighed against one another and not getting the vaccine puts others at risk if you interact with others at all. So it makes sense that it is okay to require a vaccine to be in indoor public places or a job where you interact with others face to face.

Their position seems more understandable when you consider that they have been misinformed to overestimate the risks of vaccination, and underestimate the risks of covid.

"Tyranny" is an autocratic ruler with unrestricted political power. All of the systems of government in the Western world are composed of different branches of government with limited powers and checks and balances.

So no, none are "tyrannies" - not liking a law doesn't make it "tyranny" if it was implemented via the governmental process.
