Why are you picking on people for pointing out that the number 9 can not be proven ? No one is exaggerating to the point you ridiculously take it.... except for you. Why not tell the guy making the claim of 9 that he has no clue what he's talking about? Because he's a hoplophobe like you ? High-five him !
How many potential shootings were never started b/c the person decided he might be stopped by a person with a CCW?
the solution is NOT more people with guns. nations with much lower gun ownership rates, and no CCW programs, have many fewer mass-shootings than the USA.
Mass shooters aren't afraid of getting shot or they wouldn't go on a shooting spree to begin with. They know they're going to be eventually shot by the cops or kill themselves.
He was also able to possess a pickup truck, a crowbar, a baseball bat, a box of rat poison, and kitchen knife.... What's your point? It was certainly just as illegal to place rat poison in food containers on campus as it was to shoot people with the gun. The victims are dead either way... what good would banning guns do? Why not ask the REAL question, what pushed him over the edge? -
This is a problem of basic human psychology. His nominal religion likely had zilch to do with it. As for gun laws, what do you want, armed guards at every public building? This is yet another young man who felt inadequate and bullied, and decided to take it out on people he didn't know, people he had grouped together arbitrarily as being among those who somehow repress people like himself ("betas"). I doubt we'll ever find a good solution to keeping guns away from people like these, because they're not crazy enough to be detectable a lot of the time, and having everyone else armed is not a realistic solution either.
Without knowing anything about this, I came home and looked through every news station. No one is covering this, Cbs just covered it for about 30 seconds. They instead have been running a how to stop smoking story for the last 5 minutes instead....and now they are talking about new facebook changes.. Lemme guess the shooter was of a peaceful religion.
In this incident 'more people with guns' (a.k.a. the police) were able to kill the perp. Unfortunately they didn't get there in time to save some innocent souls. Maybe if SOMEBODY with a gun was on scene at the time more lives could have been saved. Anyone with a CCW permit would have been trained. Guns are already ubiquitous thinking them away is just drinking Unicorn milk.
Thanks for chiming in... because we weren't sure of this until you did. You should partake in every thread, in case the obvious wasn't already.... obvious. ffs...
the police admitted they would harass people with cell phone gun cases, so I would assume that means they also harass people with real guns "Cellphone case shaped like handgun called "deadly, dangerous"" http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cellphone-case-shaped-like-handgun-decried-by-police-lawmaker/ "The product is being marketed as "trendy, cool, stylish," Schumer said, but instead it should be labeled as "deadly, dangerous, illegal.""
I just heard a school employee on CNN say guns aren't allowed on that campus, so how could this possibly have happened?
Maybe. Who at the school should have been packing? Other students who may have ended up abusing a firearm themselves at some point?
Yeah. Here's a clue to why he did it: http://www.politicalforum.com/showthread.php?t=426834&p=1065415224#post1065415224 And who he was. There's only so much that mental health screening can accomplish.
Very true. The ultimate gun-free zones are Canada and the UK. No one has concealed carry and they rarely have mass shootings.
I'm not referring to their fear of getting shot eventually. I'm referring to their intent to shoot as many people as they can. They will only pick locations they think are gun free in order to maximize casualties.
