And you would be wrong to do so. I would say your views of Christians borders on bigotry.

I have no tolerance for idiotic superstitions. Especially when those superstitious idiots try to legislate their fairy tales. Like what is happening in this thread.

I was asking why you think the baker rejected this couple. Nobody was asking him to participate in ANY sexual activity, so he was not being forced to violate his beliefs. They (Delormes) say they are not targeting same-sex couples. I infer from your response you don't think the baker was trying to shame them. I'm asking you what YOU think was the baker's real motive for withholding a cake from this couple?

I'm a bigot if I don't accept your particular brand of bigotry?

I know that has been tried, but I certainly do not see it as a successful strategy for justifying the original bigotry.

I know the baker in OR ended up with a bill of somewhat similar size.

But, in that case it involved the bakers publicly defying court orders - which did manage to get a boost in the penalties.

So, I haven't tried to look into this case to carefully, but it's quite possible that the fine does not come from one single offense of polite rejection.

Why are you reading the Daily Mail?? Isn't there anything that useless, scum ridden and perpetually wrong in the good ole' USA?

But the all pervasive influence of religion on fields of medical and social science up until about 45 years ago didn't have anything to do with those determinations did it? They were just completely neutral over at "St. Barts"

25 years of them demanding rights? You mean the right to visit their dying partner of 40 years in the hospital, their right to serve their country, their right to be intimate with a consentual adult and not be beaten or killed over it? The right to gather in public bars without being raided by police? How dare they!

    Really?

As to the children issue, biological parents are always best - gay people are not taking children from loving homes - they are taking unwanted children from underfunded state run systems and bringing them into a loving home. How anyone can view this as a bad thing is beyond me. Maybe you can explain it.

    They didn't defy court orders.

    TWO polite voice mails.

I put Oregon, bar, discrimination and transvestites into google and daily mail was near the top. First result that wasn't an LGBT website.

Yes, the Oregon wedding cake deniers stated that they would continue to deny service to same sex couples in defiance of their court order.

But that motive is not valid - they were not invited to participate in the wedding.

Can we just start making christians wear dunce caps now? It'd be a lot easier to avoid having to deal with them.

No one claimed they were. And baking the cake is taking part in the celebrating of a gay union.

Right, Women don't like sharing the bathroom with a bunch of men in drag because of their religious beliefs. And guys looking to pick up women for sex, turn away from men dressed up as women because of religious beliefs. NOT!

Can we get the gay mafia to stop calling in death threats because someone won't bake their wedding cake?

    And you call Christians stupid?

    - - - Updated - - -

Don't give them any ideas, soon they will say you are against LGBT equality because you will not go out with someone who has a penis even though they claim they are women.

You're free to call anyone who has a problem with oppressive punitive and violent action taken against innocent people under the bogus guise of equality "homophobic".

You're free to be that caliber of a fool.

Leftos' have a problem balancing out their bipolar convictions.

I used to think all their hypocrisy was the result of selfish and stubborn resentment over personal short comings but now i realize it's because of mental disease.

You can't achieve equality by trampling over individual liberty.

And you sure as (*)(*)(*)(*) can't justify that oooression with retaliation against those who don't go along with it.

    It's patheitc.

That would be fashionable woudn't it?

    (*)(*)(*)(*)ing liberal nazis...

No... baking a cake is baking a cake. Attending the wedding might be considered "taking part in the celebration" but then that would include people who have to be at the church or reception hall to do their jobs (e.g. the custodian). The baker could be at his own church practicing his religion at the same time the wedding is going on. You acknowledge that nobody is asking the baker to participate, so how does the location of his cake infringe on his ability to freely practice his religion? If a mixed-sex couple went to the bakery on behalf of the couple and bought a wedding cake, they could add (or replace) the figurines on top, and the baker's cake could be at the reception for a same-sex marriage. Would THAT somehow, magically, infringe on the baker's religious rights?

If the baker's ability to practice his religion is not impacted, then there is some other reason that he refuses to bake the cake. That is why it sounds like bullying ("I can bake cakes and you can't have one because you're doing something I don't approve of").
