Again, we are in agreement. "Acquitted," not innocent.

The constitution specifically states for the removal of a sitting president.

The Democrats had ZERO evidence so saying the "Republicans gave Donald a free pass" is not true.

Innocent until proven guilty and without evidence they can't prove anything.

It was another witch hunt. This thread is a big FAIL.

Nowhere in the constitution does it say this.

Lol, the democrats had live video footage and full transcripts of trumps words.

Mitch McConnell agrees that trump was guilty

Why did the Democrats support riots and protests all summer long which resulted in dead cops, dead civilians and many buildings burned down and even a police precinct taken over in Seattle.

"Riot for me but not for thee".

Mitch let Trump go. Trump never said storm the Capitol and his speech ended after the Capitol was stormed.

You need evidence and you have none. Transcripts don't show anything that = Trump inciting the riot.

While true, McConnell refused to have the hearing before January 20. I believe he did this so he didn't have to choose.

I think the DoJ will take up the cause.

Love video footage and written transcripts show otherwise.

    Mitch McConnell thinks it does

Pelosi, Schumer and the Sargant at Arms have no one else to blame for no National Guard on the 6th. They were responsible, it was offered, and they refused because of the optics. They got the invasion of nutcases they desired as well as a 2nd impeachment attempt.. Now they have 3 miles of razor wire around their house and 7000 National Guard and they don't mind the optics. Too bad they oppose that type of security on our Southern Border!

We will remember this when the Dems leave office. Wait until November and then it's a free-for-all.

I have no faith in the country or the Constitution. It has all been reduced to a sad joke. As I have said since trump was elected: The US is dead.

Rolling on the floor and laughing does not change the fact that, although he bends a little, McConnel is establishment through and through. Always has been. He and Cheney along with Romney and Flake are of the exact same makeup.

No, in America you are innocent until proven guilty. Absolutely no proof presented.

if you are still in office, you are removed. And you are precluded from then holding office ever again.

Like I said, nowhere in the constitution does it say what you claimed.

What day towards the end of a prez's tenure would Trump defenders say is the day the prez can stop upholding his oath, stop defending the Constitution, and start doing any damn thing he/she pleases?

Yep right there, if the penalty is rendered moot then you cannot proceed.

well, constitutional law and legal precedent says you can. The penalty isn't rendered moot after you leave office. One of the penalites of conviction is preclusion from future office.

They acquitted him because there is no evidence he incited any such thing as all reasonable people know.

Sorry no it doesn't it's at best a grey area and the only precedent was Belknap who resigned specifically to avoid impeachment and it failed bigly.
