Planned Parenthood provides abortions. Forcing people who oppose abortion to pay for other peoples is wrong. And it's hypocritical to one the one hand say "It's my body and nobody can tell me not have a baby and then force me to pay for their abortions. Planned Parenthood endorsed Clinton for president (their first endorsement) so you are also forcing people who don't support her to support an organization that does.

You should at least TRY to learn something before posting claptrap.

There is a law that prevents federal money from being used for abortions, the Hyde Act. Your piddly precious pennies are not being used for abortion, just wars that slaughter actual people(women, pregnant women, children) which obviously you're OK with...

Planned Parenthood, that you want to shut down, provides affordable accessible BIRTH CONTROL, and other medical services to poor women.

You do NOT want women to receive medical attention....that is misogynistic...and INhuman.

You seem to want to force them to have kids they can't afford....and then you and the other righties can vilify them for being poor and having children...

Somehow, I don't think you were pro-choice at all. Nobody with half a functioning brain cell changes position on an issue for those reasons.

So what specifically led you to change your mind, can you express the arguments, data, research etc that led you to your conclusion?

I simply changed my mind. I have more concern now for the life of the fetus now than I did before. Before that I thought the rights of the woman superseded the rights of the fetus but I was never comfortable with that position. Apparently some hysterical abortion zealots don't think I have the right to change my opinion.

Lets turn the title of the thread to the opposite for the sake of answering to the topic that is; "The Hypocrisy of the Pro-choice Movement"...

Firstly, I will state what I have already stated many, many times in the past; I am not against abortion but I do find it immoral and irresponsible (Unless mother's life is in danger or in cases of rape and/or incest). Secondly, I do not define myself as being either "pro-life" or "pro-choice". These terms derrive from an American context which I am not familiar with nor comfortable in. If anything, I'd label myself "pro-freedom". But, enough with label-names for now and let us cut to the chase: Here I will present to you, my problem with the "pro-choicers" and try to point out the hypocrisy within it.

Generally speaking , "pro-choicers" are people on the political left, they are Democrats, they are Liberals (this is of course a very broad generalisation but it has a lot of truth in it). A simplified and quick summary of their political belief is that they believe in (i)A big government and a (ii) welfare state (iii) subsidiesed by every member's of society tax money.

So, with this in mind we have to ask ourselves; how does one ensure the survival of such a system or what does it require? The answer is, of course, tax-payers and preferably, for the best possible outcome, lots and lots of them.
Question number two is then; Where does one find tax-payers, what are they? The answer to this is, of course, tax-payers are people, they are human beings. And the only way to find or create human beings is through reproduction, through child birth.

Now let us ask, what should then be the natural position of "The Left"- "Pro-life" or "pro-choice"? Well, above we have already concluded that the average "pro-choicer" prefers a political system that requires lots of life to be as effective as possible so, do I mean that "pro-choicers" contradict themselves? Yes, I do.

Finally, to wrap it all up, lets ask ourselves; what is abortion? As simply and as neutrally put as possible, abortion is hindering babies/life coming to this planet. So, a world with abortions can never fulfill the Socialist/Liberal/Democratic Utopia, because there cannot be longterm welfare without high birth rates.

Conclusion: You cannot, rationally, be "Leftist" and "pro-choice" at the same time.

Of course it is your problem. Law affects us all. When laws are made on the basis of fallacy, invalid logic or in violation of the basic principles of Justice or the Rule of Law it infects the entire system of justice.

If nothing is done the odds are pretty high that a baby will not be born. Regardless, the fact that a pregnancy, if left unchecked, "might" result in a baby does not make the entity prior to that point ( a single human cell at conception for example) "a baby".

To your second point. It is an anathema of Justice that one person is forced to be responsible for the consequences of the actions of another.

That one person is not to be made responsible for the actions of another is a fundamental principle of the Rule of Law.

The other principle is "equal justice under law".

Both principles are broken by current law. 1) A man can be made responsible for the consequences of the unilateral action/choice of a woman

    2) A woman has the right to avoid responsibility for her decision to carry a pregnancy to term (Adoption) ... the man does not.

Not exactly. We're responsible for the actions of our children until they reach a certain age. What that age may be varies between 16 and 21, according to where you live.

    Not ever.

Not exactly. A woman has the right to end her pregnancy. Not pregnancy is general.

If a man was to become pregnant, he would have exactly the same right.

In other words, you are wrong.

You are perfectly entitled to change your mind. It is a shame though that you changed it not based on anything scientific or factual, but that is your prerogative.

And on the other hand, conservatives generally want small government and as little regulation as possible. They generally trust individuals to make the choices that are best for them. So it is plain that you cannot advocate for regulation of women's uteruses and still call yourself "conservative" or for small government.

    Butthurt much? :)

Never have I ever called myself "Conservative" neither have I ever advocated for any form of regulation whatsoever. I am Liberatarian anarchist and believe everyone should be free to do whatever they please as long as they don't infringe on the freedom of the others. Want an abortion? Want to have aimless unprotected sex or be a sperm bucket? Couldn't care less. Just don't make me pay for it. :D
