It is not a mechnism for genetic change, that is premised by universal common descent. It is a condition of SOME organisms, but it does not change them into a new phylogenetic structure, or move them out of their genetic haplogroup. Repeating the mantra of 'Polyploidy! Polyploidy!' will not support your belief of universal common descent.
..but i repeat myself.. never mind. Believe whatever you want, and mask those beliefs in pseudoscientific terms, if it affirms your beliefs..

I thought the topic was intelligent design vs universal common descent.
I occasionally pick up the ad hom grenades that are thrown at me, pull the pins, and throw them back. But few of my responses contain ad hom (to the man), because i find it childish. Your continued false accusations are just to needle me, to drive me away... and that works.. and it is an antifa like tactic of disruption.

None of my scientific based replies are ever responded to, while hecklers and disrupters continue with their ad hominem streams.

But that has led to my evolution! I'll slip in some science and reason, before the hecklers notice, then bow out before the shrieking and poo flinging gets going.. less poo gets on me, this way...

Your explanation is as magical as mine, princess.

I don't pretend to know the explanation. You do. And no, not every explanation is magical

And again ....by what divine, magical process do you gain this knowledge?

Face it...your religion fools you into thinking you have answers you do not have.

Every bit of empirical evidence available supports the fact that all organisms on Earth share common descent. There is no actual debate on this in the scientific community .

One way you can tell that isn't true is that NO religion believed it until science explained it.

In fact, we've had to defend that view for decades against the religious who would have us even believe that Earth is 600 years old - not from a singularity 13.8 Billion years ago.

But, it appears you are converting!

    Great assertion!!

And stated with such dogmatic assurance!! :applause:

You believe whatever you want. Everybody has to their own believing, and their own dying..

Oh, and btw.. what is asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. :whisper:

I've never claimed to know how God did it.

You say the big bang did it I say God did it and both are based of no evidence.

I can say that you may be right, are you willing to say that I might be right?

And you are free to dismiss anything you like. As any rational person knows, there are mountains of evidence to support universe common descent....as in, all the evidence. But a fool would dance and prance and declare victory because some stranger won't waste his time spoon-feeding him evidence that high schoolers learn. So I am more than happy to let you prance and preen and embarrass yourself.

No, the big bang is definitely based on evidence.

    Really?

And again, there is copious evidence for the big bang, contrary to your false statement.. Please choose your words more carefully.

Sure, you might be right. And unicorns might make ice cream in the 6th dimension. So what?

The two are not mutually exclusive. A less-than-literal interpretation of creation depictions (which is the most widely accepted depiction across all the major religions except probably Islam) allows for the presumption that spiritual texts are not describing physical events from a physical perspective, but rather from a spiritual perspective. For example: 'God prepares the heaven and the earth for His creation' (literal interpretation from ancient Hebrew of Genesis 1:1) is the spiritual description of the physical event(s) between the Big Bang and the manifestation of life-sustaining conditions on our planet. God made this happen, but it wasn't with a snap of the finger. Rather it was the gentle, imperceptible guidance of natural processes to a desired end over a span of time, comparable to grooming a Banazai Tree- a snip or a bend here and there to nudge natural progression in a general direction over a long period of time. Same with the emergence of life and its evolution to present. God didn't poof us into existance any more than a human poofs artwork into existence. An artist creates a masterpeace one brushstroke or rock-chip at a time over the course of days or years (or eons if you're immortal).

Why would God not poof us into existence? Hes capable of it, right?

I don't think so. If his goal was to create automotons, thats how it would happen. But to create truly Free Willed individuals, a degree of nature is required. In the same sense that God cannot create a negative absolute number as the very term is contradictory to itself, and as He can't make a mountain so big that He can't move it for the same reason, he cannot merely *poof* into existance Free Willed individuals with the same creative potential as Him (which is what I believe is inferred when the Bible says we are created in the image of The Creator). I believe this dynamic also answers the 'why does evil exist?' question: because it is essential to the dynamic of Free Will.

I believe this will become more clear as we advance our technological ability to explore the human mind and even the human spirit. I believe we are destined (or at least intended) to evolve to equal (or perhaps rival, should we so choose) God Himself.

After all, what could be a more miraculous creation for an all powerful being than to create other all powerful beings?

Of course, this will not happen in our lifetime. We must first colonize, explore and utilize the universe before we can master it. We have a looooooong way to go.

You're funny... trying so hard to affirm your beliefs, by insulting and disparaging others..

A sad example of the successful indoctrination of the citizens, into the state mandated religious beliefs.

    Mountains?? MOUNTAINS??

How about one? Show me ONE example of a transition from one phylogenetic structure to another.. from one haplogroup to a different one, that is not just hiding behind definitions.

Wait.. you don't want a scientific debate, just mocking, name calling, and heckling.

Nevermind. Believe whatever you want, and ridicule other's beliefs all you want.. if it affirms your faith, i guess you need to do it..

No, I am just mocking your tactics and your behavior. I feel no compulsion whatsoever to argue for or prove the most robust scientific theory in history to you. Evidence-based knowledge does not require my affirmation, nor does one have to affirm one's self for it to be true. that is precisely the value of evidence-based knowledge.

You would fail a 10th grade science test. that is a fact. Does this bring you no embarrassment? No pause? You have not a shred of evidence or logic to support your denial, and the entire scientific community stands against yu. A rational person would pause to both consider that their own assertions are absurd, and to educate himself. Yet here you are doubling down and begging strangers for evidence.

But, in the end, I could mock you or ignore you.... your embarrassing display is not an actual challenge to the fact of evolution.

Based on TONS... no, MOUNTAINS of assumptions, conjecture, guesses, and speculations.

How can you assert something that is not even universally believed among cosmologists?

..perhaps you were thinking about cosmetologists, and they thought you were talking about the tv series! :roflol:

And neither do you, or you would be producing scientific evidence on your own to undermine the theory of evolution. But you aren't, and neither is anyone else, nor is anyone even attempting an actual challenge to the theory. So, as has shown itself to be the norm for your charlatan's display, your attacks are far more true of you than they are of anyone else.

You're not gonna send for a child of five again, are you? You think they will bail you out of your unbased assertions?

They probably would. I'd get distracted, laughing and playing with the 5 yr old, and forget all about the irrational, delusional, hostile, anti-science hecklers that seem to dominate the forums...

I do not envy your logical position.. there is really no science to support your beliefs in universal common descent, even though you believe there are 'Mountains!' That leaves you with fallacies, so you get adept at them, rather than scientific methodology. So even though i get annoyed with the constant fallacies from the evolution believers, i understand and sympathize, as a scientific minded person.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index.php?threads/fallacies-of-evolution.490664/

Check out this thread.. it was a long running evolution thread, that was closed for length. But you'll find a lot of my arguments, and scientific presentations and rebuttals, if you're interested. And if not, no problem. What's another militant atheist heckler in the soup? There's always room for more!

    ^^

This is a religious nutball, doing a victory dance on the grave of the theory of evolution because a stranger on the internet will not spoonfeed him information from a 10th grade text book.

Feast your eyes, deniers... this is your poster boy...

You're getting too testy... your jihadist zeal for protecting your sacred beliefs are showing.

I've had to ignore worse hecklers than you, so it is no loss to me. I was just giving you opportunity to be civil and rational, which does not seem to be your goal.

So i may interject a comment now and then, but i don't believe you are interested in rational, scientific debate.

And since my posts seem to provoke you to hysterical rage, i should clear out for a while, and see if you'll come to your senses.

You really go all out with the ad hom & ridicule. Has this served you well in your education and scientific knowledge?

I'm sure you have. The rest of us call them, "all the world's scientists".

You are implying that the global scientific community is either lying, or incompetent. And you, an uneducated slob, is making this accusation. That is worthy of mockery all by itself.

You are the 90 pound weakling, claiming he can beat up Mike Tyson.

    Carry on...

Grave? The ToE has a grave? :roflol:

I thought it was alive and well, indoctrinated into every person from preschool?

You think it is dead? :omg:

And now trying the old divide and conquer tactic.. but i should let you know:
I do not depend on the accolades and props from my peers to verbalize science and reason. Truth has a way of standing alone, with no need of propaganda or religious bigots to promote it.

Your cronies can cheer you on, or chime in with moral support (a great oxymoron!), but that isn't something that conservative, rational, scientific minded people do. They are highly independent, and are more likely to criticize each other, instead of cheering. You don't see the groupthink loyalty among conservatives, and ESPECIALLY Christians.

..just an interesting observation, that you might not have noticed.. probably a waste of time for me to point it out..

There is plenty of evidence that it happened, I never disputed that.

There is no evidence of why it happened, that is my argument.

Nothing existed then all of a sudden a magical explosion happened, that's what you want me to believe?

And how do you know God didn't create the universe using the big bang?

Can you tell me what caused it?

The glass jar argument if true supposedly refutes evolution since it is used by many creationists against evolution. Yet in your post you seem to try to argue for God without refuting evolution.

    Correct.

Evolution happened, its been proven and nothing in the Bible states that God made man instantly.

It says he created man from dust which fits with evolution and he created Eve from Adam which could mean the mutation of cells to create a new life form.

Remember that the Bible is not specific so when science proves something what it is actually doing is explaining more closely on the methods God used.

There is no reason to think God used magic to do all this, I believe he used the physics that existed in our world to do it.

So yes, I believe in the big bang and evolution but I believe God was behind both of them.
