The poor demanding more and more; the evil of the idea of relative wealth

Libertarian philosophy falls flat at usual. It is nothing more than a society of equals where the strongest rub the poor's faces in the mud.

Tough to be liberts in this political environment.

 

Which is how markets work the tighter the job market the higher the cost companies must pay for labor. Tax and regulate hell out of companies you get fewer companies and less competition for labor and lower wages. This isn't rocket science folks.

 

The court ordered child support was less than 50% of my income. But my ex-wife paid nothing, so (out of pocket) I had to pay for food, clothing, medical insurance, dental insurance, music lessons, sports lessons (soccer, football), cell phones, summer camp, etc. It was $3,000 per month, often more.

 

Maybe they should get a better job.

 

In any economic system, there will necessarily be winners and losers.

The problem with a system that taxes heavily and doles the proceeds out is that winners and losers are determined by the powerful central authority that controls the money. The citizens/workers/victim groups are relegated to lobbying the central authority for their "piece of the pie." This is already evident to a certain extent in the United States.

I strongly prefer a system where the winners and losers are chosen by the consumers' participation in the market.

Quality of life is up to you. If a kid was starving to death, sure, give that kid a glass of water and a slice of bread.

That kid doesn’t get an education, shelter, or anything else from me if his parents can’t afford it.
